There are five *alephs* in the Song at the Sea: “The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide [the spoil]” (Exodus 15:9).⁷ And there are five *alephs* in the five times “light” is written (אור). “*Aleph*” is from the word “teaching.” Thus, the five *alephs* shine into them and sweeten them.
