**I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?** (Song of Songs 5:3)
After the Tzaddik ascends Above, he descends again to uplift the lowest levels. This is the mystery of: “A righteous man falls seven times and rises” (Proverbs 24:16),⁹, at the end of *Tikun* 32. and of: “the souls that they had made in Haran.”
This concept applies both to this world and the next, for the Tzaddik returns in subsequent incarnations to uplift those individuals who are offshoots¹⁰ – sparks. of his branches, so that they are all repaired.
However, at first, he does not want to come down, for he is afraid that he will not return and will come to sin. Thus, they promise him that he will not sin.
