ואחר כך לימים נפטר החזן הזה ובתוך שלשים ביום ערב שבת קודש בא המשורר הבם לביתו אחר המרחץ והטבילה ואמר לאשתו מהר קרא לי החברה וצבית לי זוודתא, כי כבדו בגן עדן את החזן שלי שיקבל שבת ואינו רוצה אלא עמי, והניח עצמו על מיטתו ושבק לן חיים ולכל ישראל.
