**ושבת עד ה' אלהיך וגו'.**שמעתי מאא"ז זללה"ה, כמו אדם שמביא הנר למקום החושך, שהחושך הולך לגמרי ואינו ניכר כלל, כך כשחוזר בתשובה אף שהיה בתחלה מקום חושך, כשמאיר אור התורה אז החושך הולך לגמרי:

When a person brings a candle into a dark room, the darkness completely disappears. So too, when a person repents; though at first he was in a dark place, when the light of Torah shines, the darkness vanishes completely.
