**כי פתוח תפתח את ידך וגו'**די מחסורו אשר יחסר לו, בשם הבעל שם טוב זי"ע, ר"ת ד'י מ'חסורו א'שר י'חסר ל'ו, הוא עולה בגימטריא פ"ה, וס"ת עולה בגימטריא כת"ב רמז אם אין יכול להושיע לו בפה יתן לו כתב מליצה:

**You shall surely open your hand wide to him, and lend him enough for his needs in that which he lacks.** (ibid.)
The first letters of the words “enough for his needs in that which he lacks” (*dai machsoro asher yechsar lo*) have the numerical value of the word “mouth” (*peh*, 85). And the final letters have the numerical value of the word “writing” (*ketav*, 422). This teaches us that even if you can not help a poor man verbally,⁸ at least write him a letter of recommendation.
