סיפר אא"ז ז"ל על הבעל שם טוב זי"ע, שהציצית שלו היה להם נפש וחיות ממש, אשר היו יכולים לנענע את עצמם בלי נענוע הגוף, כי על ידי קדושת עשיית המצוה המשיך להם נפש וחיות וכו':

My father told me that the *tzitzis* of the Baal Shem Tov were alive, and that they could move by themselves, without any bodily movement. This is because the Baal Shem Tov performed the mitzvah of *tzitzis* with such holiness that he drew life-force into them.
