יד. אופן הב' שהיא צורה המלובשת בחומר, היא גם כן השגה מבוררת ומספיקה לגמרי. כי אנו משכילים אותה מתוך נסיונות ממשים מעשיים, שאנו מוצאים אותם בהתנהגות כל חומר. ומבחינה זו באה לנו כל השכלתנו הגבוהה שאפשר לסמוך עליה לודאות.

For we perceive it through actual, practical experiences, as we find them in the conduct of every substance.
