**Responsa of Rav Moshe Feinstein, trans. by Moshe David Tendler; Vol. 1: Care of the Critically Ill, Hoboken, NJ: Ktav, 1996.:**
For thirty-eight years my family and I were blessed by the presence of my sainted father-in-law, who was indeed an exemplar of an איש אלקים, half איש and half אלקים, one who melded both halves into a harmonious whole, pleasing both to God and man.

**Responsa of Rav Moshe Feinstein, trans. by Moshe David Tendler; Vol. 1: Care of the Critically Ill, Hoboken, NJ: Ktav, 1996.:**
For almost half a century "Reb" Moshe Feinstein זצוק"ל was the moral and halakhic conscience of the Torah community. Nowhere was his leadership more keenly felt than in the area of critical care medicine, where his empathy, sensitivity, and intellectual integrity were so widely recognized.

**Responsa of Rav Moshe Feinstein, trans. by Moshe David Tendler; Vol. 1: Care of the Critically Ill, Hoboken, NJ: Ktav, 1996.:**
The major vehicle for his expression of his halakhic conclusions was the *teshuvah*, which is often a mere abstract of a long chain of complex analysis to which each question was subjected. In response to his instructions to me, I have provided an interpretive rendering of these responsa, whose full interpretive breadth I was privileged to hear from Reb Moshe זצוק"ל himself during the long years I studied with him.

**Responsa of Rav Moshe Feinstein, trans. by Moshe David Tendler; Vol. 1: Care of the Critically Ill, Hoboken, NJ: Ktav, 1996.:**
Now, after his passing, we need the guidance he dispensed so modestly during his lifetime all the more, and our study of his work will not only serve to guide us in seeking the way of Torah, but will also serve to memorialize and eternalize his teachings and his person within the timeless community of Israel.
