**בהיותנו עונשים הנה ממון.** ר"ל כשאמר הפסוק עין תחת עין שן תחת שן פירשו רז"ל ואמרו שהענין הוא שישלם דמי עינו ושנו, ולפי דברי הרב יראה שהוא כפשוטו, כי כוונת הרב לישב פשוטי הפסוקים:

**יש לי במה שנאמר בו בתלמוד דעת וכו'.** ר"ל אם נניח שיהיה כונת הפסוק כאשר פירשו רז"ל ורצה בו דמי עינו ושנו ואז זה הטעם שכתב בכאן לא יספיק הנה, עם כל זה יש לרב טעם למה רצתה התורה שיהיה עונש ממון, ואותו הטעם ישמע פנים בפנים:

**כי לא עבד אדם כוכב אלא מי שהאמין בו הקדמות.** ר"ל כי מי שעובד הכוכב חשב שהשם יתברך רוח בגלגל ואם כן יתחייב מזה קדמות העולם. וכמו שכתב הרב בפרק כ"ט זה לשונו, ולזה האמינו הצאב"ה כולם קדמות העולם, שהשמים אצלם הוא האלוה
