###### Exodus 35:1

וַיַּקְהֵ֣ל מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֶֽת־כׇּל־עֲדַ֛ת בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֑ם אֵ֚לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת אֹתָֽם׃

Moshe assembled the entire congregation of the B’nei Yisrael, and said to them, “These are the words that Adonoy has commanded you to do.

שֵׁ֣שֶׁת יָמִים֮ תֵּעָשֶׂ֣ה מְלָאכָה֒ וּבַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י יִהְיֶ֨ה לָכֶ֥ם קֹ֛דֶשׁ שַׁבַּ֥ת שַׁבָּת֖וֹן לַיהֹוָ֑ה כׇּל־הָעֹשֶׂ֥ה ב֛וֹ מְלָאכָ֖ה יוּמָֽת׃

Work may be done six days, but the seventh day must be holy to you, it is a Shabbos of Shabbos to Adonoy. Whoever does work on it shall be put to death.

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whoever does work on it shall be put to death.

**The Rashi chumash by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
Six days may work be done, and on the seventh day it shall be holy for you, a Sabbath of resting for the L-rd. Whoever does work on it shall be put to death. [Moses states the exhortation against working on the Sabbath before charging them with the work of the mishkan by way of apprising them that it does not override the Sabbath.]

You must not kindle a fire in all your dwelling places on the day of Shabbos.”

Everyone who did lift up a terumah-offering of silver or copper, brought the terumah-offering to Adonoy; and everyone who had with him acacia wood for use in the work of the service, brought it.

And all the women whose hearts inspired them with wisdom, spun the goat’s hair.
