## Ezekiel Chapter 12

###### Ezekiel 12:1

בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם בְּת֥וֹךְ בֵּית־הַמֶּ֖רִי אַתָּ֣ה יֹשֵׁ֑ב אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֵינַ֩יִם֩ לָהֶ֨ם לִרְא֜וֹת וְלֹ֣א רָא֗וּ אׇזְנַ֨יִם לָהֶ֤ם לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ וְלֹ֣א שָׁמֵ֔עוּ כִּ֛י בֵּ֥ית מְרִ֖י הֵֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.


###### Ezekiel 12:3

וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־אָדָ֗ם עֲשֵׂ֤ה לְךָ֙ כְּלֵ֣י גוֹלָ֔ה וּגְלֵ֥ה יוֹמָ֖ם לְעֵינֵיהֶ֑ם וְגָלִ֨יתָ מִמְּקוֹמְךָ֜ אֶל־מָק֤וֹם אַחֵר֙ לְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם אוּלַ֣י יִרְא֔וּ כִּ֛י בֵּ֥ית מְרִ֖י הֵֽמָּה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee the gear for exile, and remove as though for exile by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be that they will perceive, though they are a rebellious house.

וְהוֹצֵאתָ֨ כֵלֶ֜יךָ כִּכְלֵ֥י גוֹלָ֛ה יוֹמָ֖ם לְעֵינֵיהֶ֑ם וְאַתָּ֗ה תֵּצֵ֤א בָעֶ֙רֶב֙ לְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם כְּמוֹצָאֵ֖י גּוֹלָֽה׃

Then shalt thou bring forth thy gear by day in their sight, as gear for exile: and thou shalt go forth at evening in their sight, as they that go out into exile.

לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם חֲתׇר־לְךָ֣ בַקִּ֑יר וְהוֹצֵאתָ֖ בּֽוֹ׃

Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out through it.


###### Ezekiel 12:6

לְעֵ֨ינֵיהֶ֜ם עַל־כָּתֵ֤ף תִּשָּׂא֙ בָּעֲלָטָ֣ה תוֹצִ֔יא פָּנֶ֣יךָ תְכַסֶּ֔ה וְלֹ֥א תִרְאֶ֖ה אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־מוֹפֵ֥ת נְתַתִּ֖יךָ לְבֵ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it out in the dark: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign to the house of Yisra᾽el.

וָאַ֣עַשׂ כֵּן֮ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר צֻוֵּ֒יתִי֒ כֵּ֠לַ֠י הוֹצֵ֜אתִי כִּכְלֵ֤י גוֹלָה֙ יוֹמָ֔ם וּבָעֶ֛רֶב חָתַֽרְתִּי־לִ֥י בַקִּ֖יר בְּיָ֑ד בָּעֲלָטָ֥ה הוֹצֵ֛אתִי עַל־כָּתֵ֥ף נָשָׂ֖אתִי לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃{פ}

And I did as I was commanded: I brought out my gear by day, as gear for exile, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my hand; I brought it out in the dark and I bore it on my shoulder in their sight.

וַיְהִ֧י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֵלַ֖י בַּבֹּ֥קֶר לֵאמֹֽר׃

בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם הֲלֹ֨א אָמְר֥וּ אֵלֶ֛יךָ בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑רִי מָ֖ה אַתָּ֥ה עֹשֶֽׂה׃

Son of man, has not the house of Yisra᾽el, the rebellious house, said to thee, What doest thou?

אֱמֹ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה הַנָּשִׂ֞יא הַמַּשָּׂ֤א הַזֶּה֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְכׇל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֥מָּה בְתוֹכָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Say thou to them, Thus says the Lord God; This burden concerns the prince in Yerushalayim, and all the house of Yisra᾽el that are among them.


###### Ezekiel 12:11

אֱמֹ֖ר אֲנִ֣י מֽוֹפֶתְכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֗יתִי כֵּ֚ן יֵעָשֶׂ֣ה לָהֶ֔ם בַּגּוֹלָ֥ה בַשְּׁבִ֖י יֵלֵֽכוּ׃

Say, I am your sign: as I have done, so shall it be done to them: they shall go into exile, into captivity.

וְהַנָּשִׂ֨יא אֲשֶׁר־בְּתוֹכָ֜ם אֶל־כָּתֵ֤ף יִשָּׂא֙ בָּעֲלָטָ֣ה וְיֵצֵ֔א בַּקִּ֥יר יַחְתְּר֖וּ לְה֣וֹצִיא ב֑וֹ פָּנָ֣יו יְכַסֶּ֔ה יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹא־יִרְאֶ֥ה לַעַ֛יִן ה֖וּא אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃

And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the dark, and shall go out: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.


###### Ezekiel 12:13

וּפָרַשְׂתִּ֤י אֶת־רִשְׁתִּי֙ עָלָ֔יו וְנִתְפַּ֖שׂ בִּמְצוּדָתִ֑י וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י אֹת֤וֹ בָבֶ֙לָה֙ אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים וְאוֹתָ֥הּ לֹֽא־יִרְאֶ֖ה וְשָׁ֥ם יָמֽוּת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Bavel to the land of the Kasdim; yet he shall not see it, though he shall die there.


###### Ezekiel 12:14

וְכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר סְבִיבֹתָ֥יו עֶזְרֹ֛ה וְכׇל־אֲגַפָּ֖יו אֱזָרֶ֣ה לְכׇל־ר֑וּחַ וְחֶ֖רֶב אָרִ֥יק אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃

And I will scatter towards every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his troops; and I will draw out the sword after them.


###### Ezekiel 12:15

וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה בַּהֲפִיצִ֤י אוֹתָם֙ בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם וְזֵרִיתִ֥י אוֹתָ֖ם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.

וְהוֹתַרְתִּ֤י מֵהֶם֙ אַנְשֵׁ֣י מִסְפָּ֔ר מֵחֶ֖רֶב מֵרָעָ֣ב וּמִדָּ֑בֶר לְמַ֨עַן יְסַפְּר֜וּ אֶת־כׇּל־תּוֹעֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם בַּגּוֹיִם֙ אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣אוּ שָׁ֔ם וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃{פ}

But I will leave a few men of them over from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may confess all their abominations among the nations where they come; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם לַחְמְךָ֖ בְּרַ֣עַשׁ תֹּאכֵ֑ל וּמֵימֶ֕יךָ בְּרׇגְזָ֥ה וּבִדְאָגָ֖ה תִּשְׁתֶּֽה׃

Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with anxiety;

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֶל־עַ֣ם הָאָ֡רֶץ כֹּֽה־אָמַר֩ אֲדֹנָ֨י יֱהֹוִ֜ה לְיוֹשְׁבֵ֤י יְרוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ אֶל־אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לַחְמָם֙ בִּדְאָגָ֣ה יֹאכֵ֔לוּ וּמֵימֵיהֶ֖ם בְּשִׁמָּמ֣וֹן יִשְׁתּ֑וּ לְמַ֜עַן תֵּשַׁ֤ם אַרְצָהּ֙ מִמְּלֹאָ֔הּ מֵחֲמַ֖ס כׇּֽל־הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים בָּֽהּ׃

and say to the people of the land, Thus says the Lord God of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and of the land of Yisra᾽el; They shall eat their bread with anxiety, and drink their water with appalment, that her land may be desolate, bare of its fullness, because of the violence of all that dwell in it.

וְהֶעָרִ֤ים הַנּֽוֹשָׁבוֹת֙ תֶּחֱרַ֔בְנָה וְהָאָ֖רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֑ה וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃{פ}

And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am the Lord.

בֶּן־אָדָ֗ם מָֽה־הַמָּשָׁ֤ל הַזֶּה֙ לָכֶ֔ם עַל־אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר יַֽאַרְכוּ֙ הַיָּמִ֔ים וְאָבַ֖ד כׇּל־חָזֽוֹן׃

Son of man, what is that proverb that you have in the land of Yisra᾽el, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision fails?

לָכֵ֞ן אֱמֹ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם כֹּה־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִה֒ הִשְׁבַּ֙תִּי֙ אֶת־הַמָּשָׁ֣ל הַזֶּ֔ה וְלֹֽא־יִמְשְׁל֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ ע֖וֹד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֚י אִם־דַּבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם קָֽרְבוּ֙ הַיָּמִ֔ים וּדְבַ֖ר כׇּל־חָזֽוֹן׃

Tell them therefore, Thus says the Lord God; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Yisra᾽el; but say to them, The days are at hand, and the word of every vision.

כִּ֠י לֹ֣א יִהְיֶ֥ה ע֛וֹד כׇּל־חֲז֥וֹן שָׁ֖וְא וּמִקְסַ֣ם חָלָ֑ק בְּת֖וֹךְ בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Yisra᾽el.

כִּ֣י**׀** אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲדַבֵּר֙ אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲדַבֵּ֤ר דָּבָר֙ וְיֵ֣עָשֶׂ֔ה לֹ֥א תִמָּשֵׁ֖ךְ ע֑וֹד כִּ֣י בִימֵיכֶ֞ם בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֗רִי אֲדַבֵּ֤ר דָּבָר֙ וַעֲשִׂיתִ֔יו נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃{פ}

For I am the Lord: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, says the Lord God.

בֶּן־אָדָ֗ם הִנֵּ֤ה בֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֹֽמְרִ֔ים הֶחָז֛וֹן אֲשֶׁר־ה֥וּא חֹזֶ֖ה לְיָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים וּלְעִתִּ֥ים רְחוֹק֖וֹת ה֥וּא נִבָּֽא׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Son of man, behold, they of the house of Yisra᾽el say, The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of times that are far off.


###### Ezekiel 12:28

לָכֵ֞ן אֱמֹ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה לֹא־תִמָּשֵׁ֥ךְ ע֖וֹד כׇּל־דְּבָרָ֑י אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲדַבֵּ֤ר דָּבָר֙ וְיֵ֣עָשֶׂ֔ה נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃{פ}

Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God; None of my words shall be delayed any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, says the Lord God.
