## Ezekiel Chapter 13

###### Ezekiel 13:1

וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,


###### Ezekiel 13:2

בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם הִנָּבֵ֛א אֶל־נְבִיאֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הַנִּבָּאִ֑ים וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ לִנְבִיאֵ֣י מִלִּבָּ֔ם שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Yisra᾽el that prophesy, and say to them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear the word of the Lord;


###### Ezekiel 13:3

כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה ה֖וֹי עַל־הַנְּבִיאִ֣ים הַנְּבָלִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֹלְכִ֛ים אַחַ֥ר רוּחָ֖ם וּלְבִלְתִּ֥י רָאֽוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
thus says the Lord God; Woe to the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!


###### Ezekiel 13:4

כְּשֻׁעָלִ֖ים בׇּחֳרָב֑וֹת נְבִיאֶ֥יךָ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הָיֽוּ׃

O Yisra᾽el, thy prophets are like foxes among ruins.


###### Ezekiel 13:5

לֹ֤א עֲלִיתֶם֙ בַּפְּרָצ֔וֹת וַתִּגְדְּר֥וּ גָדֵ֖ר עַל־בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לַעֲמֹ֥ד בַּמִּלְחָמָ֖ה בְּי֥וֹם יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
You have not gone up into the breaches, nor have you built a fence for the house of Yisra᾽el to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord.


###### Ezekiel 13:6

חָ֤זוּ שָׁוְא֙ וְקֶ֣סֶם כָּזָ֔ב הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיהֹוָ֖ה לֹ֣א שְׁלָחָ֑ם וְיִחֲל֖וּ לְקַיֵּ֥ם דָּבָֽר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They have seen vanity and lying divination; they say, The Lord says: and the Lord has not sent them: and they hope that he will confirm the word.


###### Ezekiel 13:7

הֲל֤וֹא מַֽחֲזֵה־שָׁוְא֙ חֲזִיתֶ֔ם וּמִקְסַ֥ם כָּזָ֖ב אֲמַרְתֶּ֑ם וְאֹֽמְרִים֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וַאֲנִ֖י לֹ֥א דִבַּֽרְתִּי׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Have you not seen a vain vision, and have you not spoken a lying divination, in that you say, The Lord says; yet I have not spoken?


###### Ezekiel 13:8

לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה יַ֚עַן דַּבֶּרְכֶ֣ם שָׁ֔וְא וַחֲזִיתֶ֖ם כָּזָ֑ב לָכֵן֙ הִנְנִ֣י אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore thus says the Lord God; Because you have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore behold, I am against you, says the Lord God,


###### Ezekiel 13:9

וְהָיְתָ֣ה יָדִ֗י אֶֽל־הַנְּבִיאִ֞ים הַחֹזִ֣ים שָׁוְא֮ וְהַקֹּסְמִ֣ים כָּזָב֒ בְּס֧וֹד עַמִּ֣י לֹֽא־יִֽהְי֗וּ וּבִכְתָ֤ב בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֹ֣א יִכָּתֵ֔בוּ וְאֶל־אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹ֣א יָבֹ֑אוּ וִידַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּ֥י אֲנִ֖י אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and my hand shall be against the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the counsel of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Yisra᾽el, neither shall they enter into the land of Yisra᾽el; and you shall know that I am the Lord God.


###### Ezekiel 13:10

יַ֣עַן וּבְיַ֜עַן הִטְע֧וּ אֶת־עַמִּ֛י לֵאמֹ֥ר שָׁל֖וֹם וְאֵ֣ין שָׁל֑וֹם וְהוּא֙ בֹּ֣נֶה חַ֔יִץ וְהִנָּ֛ם טָחִ֥ים אֹת֖וֹ תָּפֵֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Because, even because they have led my people astray, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and if anyone builds a wall, these daub it with whitewash:


###### Ezekiel 13:11

אֱמֹ֛ר אֶל־טָחֵ֥י תָפֵ֖ל וְיִפֹּ֑ל הָיָ֣ה**׀** גֶּ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵ֗ף וְאַתֵּ֜נָה אַבְנֵ֤י אֶלְגָּבִישׁ֙ תִּפֹּ֔לְנָה וְר֥וּחַ סְעָר֖וֹת תְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
say to them who daub it with whitewash that it shall fall: there shall be a deluge of rain; and you, O you great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall break out.

וְהִנֵּ֖ה נָפַ֣ל הַקִּ֑יר הֲלוֹא֙ יֵאָמֵ֣ר אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם אַיֵּ֥ה הַטִּ֖יחַ אֲשֶׁ֥ר טַחְתֶּֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said to you, Where is the daubing with which you daubed it?


###### Ezekiel 13:13

לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה וּבִקַּעְתִּ֥י רוּחַ־סְעָר֖וֹת בַּחֲמָתִ֑י וְגֶ֤שֶׁם שֹׁטֵף֙ בְּאַפִּ֣י יִֽהְיֶ֔ה וְאַבְנֵ֥י אֶלְגָּבִ֖ישׁ בְּחֵמָ֥ה לְכָלָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore thus says the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.


###### Ezekiel 13:14

וְהָ֨רַסְתִּ֜י אֶת־הַקִּ֨יר אֲשֶׁר־טַחְתֶּ֥ם תָּפֵ֛ל וְהִגַּעְתִּ֥יהוּ אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְנִגְלָ֣ה יְסֹד֑וֹ וְנָֽפְלָה֙ וּכְלִיתֶ֣ם בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ וִידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
So will I break down the wall that you have daubed with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation shall be laid bare, and it shall fall and you shall be consumed in the midst of it: and you shall know that I am the Lord.


###### Ezekiel 13:15

וְכִלֵּיתִ֤י אֶת־חֲמָתִי֙ בַּקִּ֔יר וּבַטָּחִ֥ים אֹת֖וֹ תָּפֵ֑ל וְאֹמַ֤ר לָכֶם֙ אֵ֣ין הַקִּ֔יר וְאֵ֖ין הַטָּחִ֥ים אֹתֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall, and upon those who have daubed it with whitewash, and I will say to you. The wall is no more, nor they that daubed it;


###### Ezekiel 13:16

נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הַֽנִּבְּאִים֙ אֶל־יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְהַחֹזִ֥ים לָ֖הּ חֲז֣וֹן שָׁלֹ֑ם וְאֵ֣ין שָׁלֹ֔ם נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
namely, the prophets of Yisra᾽el who prophesied concerning Yerushalayim, and saw visions of peace concerning her, when there was no peace, says the Lord God.


###### Ezekiel 13:17

וְאַתָּ֣ה בֶן־אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־בְּנ֣וֹת עַמְּךָ֔ הַמִּֽתְנַבְּא֖וֹת מִֽלִּבְּהֶ֑ן וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עֲלֵיהֶֽן׃

And thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them,

וְאָמַרְתָּ֞ כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר**׀** אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה הוֹי֩ לִֽמְתַפְּר֨וֹת כְּסָת֜וֹת עַ֣ל**׀** כׇּל־אַצִּילֵ֣י יָדַ֗י וְעֹשׂ֧וֹת הַמִּסְפָּח֛וֹת עַל־רֹ֥אשׁ כׇּל־קוֹמָ֖ה לְצוֹדֵ֣ד נְפָשׁ֑וֹת הַנְּפָשׁוֹת֙ תְּצוֹדֵ֣דְנָה לְעַמִּ֔י וּנְפָשׁ֖וֹת לָכֶ֥נָה תְחַיֶּֽינָה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and say, Thus says the Lord God; Woe to the women that sew bands upon all arms, and make veils upon the head of people of every height, for hunting souls! will you hunt the souls of my people, and will you save your own souls alive?


###### Ezekiel 13:19

וַתְּחַלֶּלְ֨נָה אֹתִ֜י אֶל־עַמִּ֗י בְּשַׁעֲלֵ֣י שְׂעֹרִים֮ וּבִפְת֣וֹתֵי לֶחֶם֒ לְהָמִ֤ית נְפָשׁוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־תְמוּתֶ֔נָה וּלְחַיּ֥וֹת נְפָשׁ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־תִֽחְיֶ֑ינָה בְּכַ֨זֶּבְכֶ֔ם לְעַמִּ֖י שֹׁמְעֵ֥י כָזָֽב׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And will you profane me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people who hear your lies?

לָכֵ֞ן כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר**׀** אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה הִנְנִ֤י אֶל־כִּסְּתוֹתֵיכֶ֙נָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַ֠תֵּ֠נָה מְצֹדְד֨וֹת שָׁ֤ם אֶת־הַנְּפָשׁוֹת֙ לְפֹ֣רְח֔וֹת וְקָרַעְתִּ֣י אֹתָ֔ם מֵעַ֖ל זְרוֹעֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי֙ אֶת־הַנְּפָשׁ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם מְצֹדְד֥וֹת אֶת־נְפָשִׁ֖ים לְפֹרְחֹֽת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore, thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against your armbands, with which you hunt the souls there, whisking them off to destruction; and I will tear them from your arms, and I will let the souls go free, namely the souls that you hunt, whisking them to destruction.

וְקָרַעְתִּ֞י אֶת־מִסְפְּחֹֽתֵיכֶ֗ם וְהִצַּלְתִּ֤י אֶת־עַמִּי֙ מִיֶּדְכֶ֔ן וְלֹא־יִהְי֥וּ ע֛וֹד בְּיֶדְכֶ֖ן לִמְצוּדָ֑ה וִידַעְתֶּ֖ן כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃

Your headveils also I will tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and you shall know that I am the Lord.

יַ֣עַן הַכְא֤וֹת לֵב־צַדִּיק֙ שֶׁ֔קֶר וַאֲנִ֖י לֹ֣א הִכְאַבְתִּ֑יו וּלְחַזֵּק֙ יְדֵ֣י רָשָׁ֔ע לְבִלְתִּי־שׁ֛וּב מִדַּרְכּ֥וֹ הָרָ֖ע לְהַחֲיֹתֽוֹ׃

Because with lies you have cowed the heart of the righteous whom I have not grieved; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

לָכֵ֗ן שָׁ֚וְא לֹ֣א תֶחֱזֶ֔ינָה וְקֶ֖סֶם לֹא־תִקְסַ֣מְנָה ע֑וֹד וְהִצַּלְתִּ֤י אֶת־עַמִּי֙ מִיֶּדְכֶ֔ן וִידַעְתֶּ֖ן כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
therefore you shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
