## Ezekiel Chapter 28

###### Ezekiel 28:1

וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃

The word of the Lord came again to me, saying,


###### Ezekiel 28:2

בֶּן־אָדָ֡ם אֱמֹר֩ לִנְגִ֨יד צֹ֜ר כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר**׀** אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה יַ֣עַן גָּבַ֤הּ לִבְּךָ֙ וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֵ֣ל אָ֔נִי מוֹשַׁ֧ב אֱלֹהִ֛ים יָשַׁ֖בְתִּי בְּלֵ֣ב יַמִּ֑ים וְאַתָּ֤ה אָדָם֙ וְֽלֹא־אֵ֔ל וַתִּתֵּ֥ן לִבְּךָ֖ כְּלֵ֥ב אֱלֹהִֽים׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Son of man, say to the prince of Żor, Thus says the Lord God; Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the heart of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God:

הִנֵּ֥ה חָכָ֛ם אַתָּ֖ה (מדנאל) [מִדָּֽנִיֵּ֑אל] כׇּל־סָת֖וּם לֹ֥א עֲמָמֽוּךָ׃

behold, thou art wiser than Dani᾽el; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:


###### Ezekiel 28:4

בְּחׇכְמָֽתְךָ֙ וּבִתְבוּנָ֣תְךָ֔ עָשִׂ֥יתָ לְּךָ֖ חָ֑יִל וַתַּ֛עַשׂ זָהָ֥ב וָכֶ֖סֶף בְּאוֹצְרוֹתֶֽיךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
with thy wisdom and with thy understanding thou hast acquired riches, and hast gotten gold and silver in thy treasures:


###### Ezekiel 28:5

בְּרֹ֧ב חׇכְמָתְךָ֛ בִּרְכֻלָּתְךָ֖ הִרְבִּ֣יתָ חֵילֶ֑ךָ וַיִּגְבַּ֥הּ לְבָבְךָ֖ בְּחֵילֶֽךָ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
by thy great wisdom and by thy trading thou hast increased thy riches, and thy heart is lifted up because of thy riches:


###### Ezekiel 28:6

לָכֵ֕ן כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה יַ֛עַן תִּתְּךָ֥ אֶת־לְבָבְךָ֖ כְּלֵ֥ב אֱלֹהִֽים׃

therefore thus says the Lord God; Because thou hast set thy heart as the heart of God;


###### Ezekiel 28:7

לָכֵ֗ן הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֤יא עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ זָרִ֔ים עָרִיצֵ֖י גּוֹיִ֑ם וְהֵרִ֤יקוּ חַרְבוֹתָם֙ עַל־יְפִ֣י חׇכְמָתֶ֔ךָ וְחִלְּל֖וּ יִפְעָתֶֽךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the most terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.


###### Ezekiel 28:8

לַשַּׁ֖חַת יוֹרִד֑וּךָ וָמַ֛תָּה מְמוֹתֵ֥י חָלָ֖ל בְּלֵ֥ב יַמִּֽים׃

They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the heart of the seas.


###### Ezekiel 28:9

הֶאָמֹ֤ר תֹּאמַר֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אָ֔נִי לִפְנֵ֖י הֹרְגֶ֑ךָ וְאַתָּ֥ה אָדָ֛ם וְלֹא־אֵ֖ל בְּיַ֥ד מְחַלְלֶֽיךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Wilt thou yet say before him that slays thee, I am God? but thou art a man, and not God, in the hand of him that slays thee.


###### Ezekiel 28:10

מוֹתֵ֧י עֲרֵלִ֛ים תָּמ֖וּת בְּיַד־זָרִ֑ים כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י דִבַּ֔רְתִּי נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, says the Lord God.

בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שָׂ֥א קִינָ֖ה עַל־מֶ֣לֶךְ צ֑וֹר וְאָמַ֣רְתָּ לּ֗וֹ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה אַתָּה֙ חוֹתֵ֣ם תׇּכְנִ֔ית מָלֵ֥א חׇכְמָ֖ה וּכְלִ֥יל יֹֽפִי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Żor, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God; Thou art a seal and a paragon, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

בְּעֵ֨דֶן גַּן־אֱלֹהִ֜ים הָיִ֗יתָ כׇּל־אֶ֨בֶן יְקָרָ֤ה מְסֻכָתֶ֙ךָ֙ אֹ֣דֶם פִּטְדָ֞ה וְיָהֲלֹ֗ם תַּרְשִׁ֥ישׁ שֹׁ֙הַם֙ וְיָ֣שְׁפֵ֔ה סַפִּ֣יר נֹ֔פֶךְ וּבָרְקַ֖ת וְזָהָ֑ב מְלֶ֨אכֶת תֻּפֶּ֤יךָ וּנְקָבֶ֙יךָ֙ בָּ֔ךְ בְּי֥וֹם הִבָּרַאֲךָ֖ כּוֹנָֽנוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thou has been in ῾Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the ruby, the crysolithe, and the diamond, the emerald, the shoham, and the jade, the sapphire, the turquoise, and the beryl, and gold; the workmanship of thy settings and thy sockets was in thee, in the day that thou wast created they were prepared.

אַ֨תְּ־כְּר֔וּב מִמְשַׁ֖ח הַסּוֹכֵ֑ךְ וּנְתַתִּ֗יךָ בְּהַ֨ר קֹ֤דֶשׁ אֱלֹהִים֙ הָיִ֔יתָ בְּת֥וֹךְ אַבְנֵי־אֵ֖שׁ הִתְהַלָּֽכְתָּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thou wast the far covering keruv; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.


###### Ezekiel 28:15

תָּמִ֤ים אַתָּה֙ בִּדְרָכֶ֔יךָ מִיּ֖וֹם הִבָּֽרְאָ֑ךְ עַד־נִמְצָ֥א עַוְלָ֖תָה בָּֽךְ׃

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

בְּרֹ֣ב רְכֻלָּתְךָ֗ מָל֧וּ תוֹכְךָ֛ חָמָ֖ס וַֽתֶּחֱטָ֑א וָאֲחַלֶּלְךָ֩ מֵהַ֨ר אֱלֹהִ֤ים וָֽאַבֶּדְךָ֙ כְּר֣וּב הַסֹּכֵ֔ךְ מִתּ֖וֹךְ אַבְנֵי־אֵֽשׁ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I have cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering keruv, from the midst of the stones of fire.


###### Ezekiel 28:17

גָּבַ֤הּ לִבְּךָ֙ בְּיׇפְיֶ֔ךָ שִׁחַ֥תָּ חׇכְמָתְךָ֖ עַל־יִפְעָתֶ֑ךָ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ הִשְׁלַכְתִּ֗יךָ לִפְנֵ֧י מְלָכִ֛ים נְתַתִּ֖יךָ לְרַ֥אֲוָה בָֽךְ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may gaze upon thee.


###### Ezekiel 28:18

מֵרֹ֣ב עֲוֺנֶ֗יךָ בְּעֶ֙וֶל֙ רְכֻלָּ֣תְךָ֔ חִלַּ֖לְתָּ מִקְדָּשֶׁ֑יךָ וָאוֹצִא־אֵ֤שׁ מִתּֽוֹכְךָ֙ הִ֣יא אֲכָלַ֔תְךָ וָאֶתֶּנְךָ֤ לְאֵ֙פֶר֙ עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ לְעֵינֵ֖י כׇּל־רֹאֶֽיךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffic; therefore have I brought forth a fire from the midst of thee, it has devoured thee, and I have turned thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.


###### Ezekiel 28:19

כׇּל־יֽוֹדְעֶ֙יךָ֙ בָּֽעַמִּ֔ים שָׁמְמ֖וּ עָלֶ֑יךָ בַּלָּה֣וֹת הָיִ֔יתָ וְאֵינְךָ֖ עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
All they that know thee among the peoples shall be appalled at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt exist no more for ever.

בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שִׂ֥ים פָּנֶ֖יךָ אֶל־צִיד֑וֹן וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלֶֽיהָ׃

Son of man, set thy face against Żidon, and prophesy against it,


###### Ezekiel 28:22

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה הִנְנִ֤י עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ צִיד֔וֹן וְנִכְבַּדְתִּ֖י בְּתוֹכֵ֑ךְ וְֽיָדְע֞וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה בַּעֲשׂ֥וֹתִי בָ֛הּ שְׁפָטִ֖ים וְנִקְדַּ֥שְׁתִּי בָֽהּ׃

and say, Thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Żidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.


###### Ezekiel 28:23

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־בָ֞הּ דֶּ֤בֶר וָדָם֙ בְּח֣וּצוֹתֶ֔יהָ וְנִפְלַ֤ל חָלָל֙ בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ בְּחֶ֥רֶב עָלֶ֖יהָ מִסָּבִ֑יב וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall fall in heaps in the midst of her by the sword upon her on every side; and they shall know that I am the Lord.


###### Ezekiel 28:24

וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֨ה ע֜וֹד לְבֵ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל סִלּ֤וֹן מַמְאִיר֙ וְק֣וֹץ מַכְאִ֔ב מִכֹּל֙ סְבִ֣יבֹתָ֔ם הַשָּׁאטִ֖ים אוֹתָ֑ם וְיָ֣דְע֔וּ כִּ֥י אֲנִ֖י אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה׃{פ}

And there shall be no more a pricking brier to the house of Yisra᾽el, nor a thorn to give pain, among all those that are round about that disdain them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

כֹּה־אָמַר֮ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִה֒ בְּקַבְּצִ֣י**׀** אֶת־בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מִן־הָֽעַמִּים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָפֹ֣צוּ בָ֔ם וְנִקְדַּ֥שְׁתִּי בָ֖ם לְעֵינֵ֣י הַגּוֹיִ֑ם וְיָֽשְׁבוּ֙ עַל־אַדְמָתָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לְעַבְדִּ֥י לְיַעֲקֹֽב׃

Thus says the Lord God; When I shall have gathered the house of Yisra᾽el from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Ya῾aqov.

וְיָשְׁב֣וּ עָלֶ֘יהָ֮ לָבֶ֒טַח֒ וּבָנ֤וּ בָתִּים֙ וְנָטְע֣וּ כְרָמִ֔ים וְיָשְׁב֖וּ לָבֶ֑טַח בַּעֲשׂוֹתִ֣י שְׁפָטִ֗ים בְּכֹ֨ל הַשָּׁאטִ֤ים אֹתָם֙ מִסְּבִ֣יבוֹתָ֔ם וְיָ֣דְע֔וּ כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And they shall dwell safely there, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards, and they shall dwell in security, when I have executed judgments upon all those that disdain them round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.
