## Ezekiel Chapter 42

###### Ezekiel 42:1

וַיּוֹצִאֵ֗נִי אֶל־הֶחָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֑וֹן וַיְבִאֵ֣נִי אֶל־הַלִּשְׁכָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר נֶ֧גֶד הַגִּזְרָ֛ה וַאֲשֶֽׁר־נֶ֥גֶד הַבִּנְיָ֖ן אֶל־הַצָּפֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Then he brought me out into the outer court, the way towards the north: and brought me into the chamber that was over against the main wing, and which was before the building towards the north,


###### Ezekiel 42:2

אֶל־פְּנֵי־אֹ֙רֶךְ֙ אַמּ֣וֹת הַמֵּאָ֔ה פֶּ֖תַח הַצָּפ֑וֹן וְהָרֹ֖חַב חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים אַמּֽוֹת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
to the front of which the length was a hundred cubits with the door on the north, and the breadth was fifty cubits.

נֶ֣גֶד הָעֶשְׂרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁר֙ לֶחָצֵ֣ר הַפְּנִימִ֔י וְנֶ֣גֶד רִֽצְפָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר לֶחָצֵ֣ר הַחִיצוֹנָ֑ה אַתִּ֥יק אֶל־פְּנֵֽי־אַתִּ֖יק בַּשְּׁלִשִֽׁים׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Over against the twenty cubits which were for the inner court, and over against the pavement which was for the outer court, with gallery against gallery in three stories.


###### Ezekiel 42:4

וְלִפְנֵ֨י הַלְּשָׁכ֜וֹת מַהֲלַךְ֩ עֶ֨שֶׂר אַמּ֥וֹת רֹ֙חַב֙ אֶל־הַפְּנִימִ֔ית דֶּ֖רֶךְ אַמָּ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת וּפִתְחֵיהֶ֖ם לַצָּפֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors were towards the north.


###### Ezekiel 42:5

וְהַלְּשָׁכ֥וֹת הָעֶלְיוֹנֹ֖ת קְצֻר֑וֹת כִּֽי־יוֹכְל֨וּ אַתִּיקִ֜ים מֵהֵ֗נָּה מֵהַתַּחְתֹּנ֛וֹת וּמֵהַתִּכוֹנ֖וֹת בִּנְיָֽן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Now the upper chambers were shorter: for the galleries took away from these, more than from the lower, and the middlemost, in the building.


###### Ezekiel 42:6

כִּ֤י מְשֻׁלָּשׁוֹת֙ הֵ֔נָּה וְאֵ֤ין לָהֶן֙ עַמּוּדִ֔ים כְּעַמּוּדֵ֖י הַחֲצֵר֑וֹת עַל־כֵּ֣ן נֶאֱצַ֗ל מֵהַתַּחְתּוֹנ֛וֹת וּמֵהַתִּיכֹנ֖וֹת מֵהָאָֽרֶץ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For they were in three stories, but had not pillars as the pillars of the courts: therefore it was set back from the ground more than the lowest and the middlemost.


###### Ezekiel 42:7

וְגָדֵ֤ר אֲשֶׁר־לַחוּץ֙ לְעֻמַּ֣ת הַלְּשָׁכ֔וֹת דֶּ֛רֶךְ הֶחָצֵ֥ר הַחִצוֹנָ֖ה אֶל־פְּנֵ֣י הַלְּשָׁכ֑וֹת אׇרְכּ֖וֹ חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים אַמָּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the wall that was outside opposite the chambers, toward the outer court on the forefront of the chambers, the length of it was fifty cubits.


###### Ezekiel 42:8

כִּֽי־אֹ֣רֶךְ הַלְּשָׁכ֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֶחָצֵ֥ר הַחִצוֹנָ֖ה חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים אַמָּ֑ה וְהִנֵּ֛ה עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַהֵיכָ֖ל מֵאָ֥ה אַמָּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the length of the chambers that belonged to the outer court was fifty cubits: and, lo, in front of the temple was an extent of a hundred cubits.


###### Ezekiel 42:9

(ומתחתה לשכות) [וּמִתַּ֖חַת הַלְּשָׁכ֣וֹת] הָאֵ֑לֶּה (המבוא) [הַמֵּבִיא֙] מֵֽהַקָּדִ֔ים בְּבֹא֣וֹ לָהֵ֔נָּה מֵהֶחָצֵ֖ר הַחִצֹנָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And from under these chambers was the entry on the east side, as one goes into them from the outer court.


###### Ezekiel 42:10

בְּרֹ֣חַב**׀** גֶּ֣דֶר הֶחָצֵ֗ר דֶּ֧רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֛ים אֶל־פְּנֵ֧י הַגִּזְרָ֛ה וְאֶל־פְּנֵ֥י הַבִּנְיָ֖ן לְשָׁכֽוֹת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Chambers were set in the thickness of the wall of the court towards the east, over against the main wing, and over against the building, with a way before them;


###### Ezekiel 42:11

וְדֶ֙רֶךְ֙ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם כְּמַרְאֵ֣ה הַלְּשָׁכ֗וֹת אֲשֶׁר֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן כְּאׇרְכָּ֖ן כֵּ֣ן רׇחְבָּ֑ן וְכֹל֙ מוֹצָ֣אֵיהֶ֔ן וּכְמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶ֖ן וּכְפִתְחֵיהֶֽן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
like the appearance of the chambers which were towards the north, as long as they, and as broad as they, with all their exits, and according to their fashions;


###### Ezekiel 42:12

וּכְפִתְחֵ֣י הַלְּשָׁכ֗וֹת אֲשֶׁר֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֔וֹם פֶּ֖תַח בְּרֹ֣אשׁ דָּ֑רֶךְ דֶּ֗רֶךְ בִּפְנֵי֙ הַגְּדֶ֣רֶת הֲגִינָ֔ה דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֖ים בְּבוֹאָֽן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and as their doors, so were also the doors of the chambers that were towards the south; there was a door in the head of the way, the way directly before the wall towards the east, as one enters into them.

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י לִֽשְׁכ֨וֹת הַצָּפ֜וֹן לִֽשְׁכ֣וֹת הַדָּרוֹם֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶל־פְּנֵ֣י הַגִּזְרָה֒ הֵ֣נָּה**׀** לִֽשְׁכ֣וֹת הַקֹּ֗דֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יֹאכְלוּ־שָׁ֧ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים אֲשֶׁר־קְרוֹבִ֥ים לַיהֹוָ֖ה קׇדְשֵׁ֣י הַקֳּדָשִׁ֑ים שָׁ֞ם יַנִּ֣יחוּ**׀** קׇדְשֵׁ֣י הַקֳּדָשִׁ֗ים וְהַמִּנְחָה֙ וְהַחַטָּ֣את וְהָאָשָׁ֔ם כִּ֥י הַמָּק֖וֹם קָדֹֽשׁ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Then he said to me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the main wing, they are holy chambers, where the priests that approach to the Lord shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meal offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering; for the place is holy.

בְּבֹאָ֣ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים וְלֹֽא־יֵצְא֤וּ מֵהַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ אֶל־הֶחָצֵ֣ר הַחִיצוֹנָ֔ה וְשָׁ֞ם יַנִּ֧יחוּ בִגְדֵיהֶ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־יְשָׁרְת֥וּ בָהֶ֖ן כִּֽי־קֹ֣דֶשׁ הֵ֑נָּה (ילבשו) [וְלָֽבְשׁוּ֙] בְּגָדִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וְקָרְב֖וּ אֶל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר לָעָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
When the priests enter there, then shall they not go out of the holy place into the outer court, but there they shall lay their garments in which they minister; for they are holy; and shall put on other garments, and shall approach to those things which belong to the people.


###### Ezekiel 42:15

וְכִלָּ֗ה אֶת־מִדּוֹת֙ הַבַּ֣יִת הַפְּנִימִ֔י וְהוֹצִיאַ֙נִי֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַשַּׁ֔עַר אֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּנָ֖יו דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֑ים וּמְדָד֖וֹ סָבִ֥יב׀סָבִֽיב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me out towards the gate whose prospect is towards the east, and measured it round about.


###### Ezekiel 42:16

מָדַ֛ד ר֥וּחַ הַקָּדִ֖ים בִּקְנֵ֣ה הַמִּדָּ֑ה חֲמֵשׁ־[מֵא֥וֹת] (אמות) קָנִ֛ים בִּקְנֵ֥ה הַמִּדָּ֖ה סָבִֽיב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
He measured the east side with the measuring reed, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.


###### Ezekiel 42:17

מָדַ֖ד ר֣וּחַ הַצָּפ֑וֹן חֲמֵשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת קָנִ֛ים בִּקְנֵ֥ה הַמִּדָּ֖ה סָבִֽיב׃

He measured the north side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed round about.


###### Ezekiel 42:18

אֵ֛ת ר֥וּחַ הַדָּר֖וֹם מָדָ֑ד חֲמֵשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת קָנִ֖ים בִּקְנֵ֥ה הַמִּדָּֽה׃

He measured the south side, five hundred reeds, with the measuring reed.


###### Ezekiel 42:19

סָבַ֖ב אֶל־ר֣וּחַ הַיָּ֑ם מָדַ֛ד חֲמֵשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת קָנִ֖ים בִּקְנֵ֥ה הַמִּדָּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
He turned about to the west side, and measured five hundred reeds with the measuring reed.


###### Ezekiel 42:20

לְאַרְבַּ֨ע רוּח֜וֹת מְדָד֗וֹ ח֤וֹמָה לוֹ֙ סָבִ֣יב׀סָבִ֔יב אֹ֚רֶךְ חֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֔וֹת וְרֹ֖חַב חֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת לְהַבְדִּ֕יל בֵּ֥ין הַקֹּ֖דֶשׁ לְחֹֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
He measured it by the four sides: it had a wall round about, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred broad, to make a separation between the holy and the common.
