ברור אפוא שמסדרי הבבלי אע"פ שידעו כמה וכמה סוגיות מתלמודה של א"י לא ראו את הירוש' **שלנו** ולא ידעו אותו, ושהרבה סוגיות של א"י שהזכירו הן סוגיות של תלמוד א"י במהדורא **אחרת**, של ישיבה אחרת, שנמסרו בבבל **בעל פה**. ומכיון שאין אנו יודעים בכל סוגיא וסוגיא של א"י ובכל מאמר ומאמר של אמוראי א"י את שם המוליך והמביא, אם היה מטבריא או מצפורי או מקסרין או מלוד, מקום הישיבות הראשיות בא"י, ומכיון **שבא"י עצמה היו חילופים רבים מישיבה לישיבה** (כאותם ההבדלים של הסוגיות המתחלפות שבירוש' שלנו, או שבין הסוגיות שבירוש' בכלל לירוש' נזיקין, או שבין הסוגיות שבירוש' לאותן שבב"ר), – הרי ברור שסוגיא או מאמר שנמסרו בבבל ע"י אחד החכמים של הישיבות שמחוץ לטבריה, – שאותן הסוגיות או המאמרים יכולים היו להמסר **בטבריה**, מקום סידורו של רוב הירוש' **שלנו**, **בצורה אחרת ובשיטה אחרת**: מכאן החילופים שבמאמרי א"י וסוגיותיה בין הבבלי והירוש', ומכאן החילופים שבין ה"נחותי", רבין ורב דימי ור' יצחק (כי אתא רבין – כי אתא רב דימי – כי אתא ר' יצחק) וכדומה, הרגילים בבבלי, ומכאן יסוד העובדא שהרבה והרבה מקבלותיהם של נחותי אלו²⁴ **אינן מתאימות** כלל לירוש' **שלנו**.
