## Isaiah Chapter 15

###### Isaiah 15:1

מַשָּׂ֖א מוֹאָ֑ב כִּ֠י בְּלֵ֞יל שֻׁדַּ֨ד עָ֤ר מוֹאָב֙ נִדְמָ֔ה כִּ֗י בְּלֵ֛יל שֻׁדַּ֥ד קִיר־מוֹאָ֖ב נִדְמָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The burden of Mo᾽av. Because in the night ῾Ar of Mo᾽av is laid waste, and ruined; because in the night Qir of Mo᾽av is laid waste, and ruined;


###### Isaiah 15:2

עָלָ֨ה הַבַּ֧יִת וְדִיבֹ֛ן הַבָּמ֖וֹת לְבֶ֑כִי עַל־נְב֞וֹ וְעַ֤ל מֵֽידְבָא֙ מוֹאָ֣ב יְיֵלִ֔יל בְּכׇל־רֹאשָׁ֣יו קׇרְחָ֔ה כׇּל־זָקָ֖ן גְּרוּעָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
he is gone up to the shrine, and Divon to the high places, to weep: Mo᾽av shall howl over Nevo, and over Medeva: on all their heads is baldness, and every beard is cut off.


###### Isaiah 15:3

בְּחוּצֹתָ֖יו חָ֣גְרוּ שָׂ֑ק עַ֣ל גַּגּוֹתֶ֧יהָ וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֛יהָ כֻּלֹּ֥ה יְיֵלִ֖יל יֹרֵ֥ד בַּבֶּֽכִי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In their streets they gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one howls, weeping abundantly.


###### Isaiah 15:4

וַתִּזְעַ֤ק חֶשְׁבּוֹן֙ וְאֶלְעָלֵ֔ה עַד־יַ֖הַץ נִשְׁמַ֣ע קוֹלָ֑ם עַל־כֵּ֗ן חֲלֻצֵ֤י מוֹאָב֙ יָרִ֔יעוּ נַפְשׁ֖וֹ יָ֥רְעָה לּֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And Ḥeshbon cries, and ᾽᾽El῾ale: their voice is heard as far as Yahaż: therefore the armed soldiers of Mo᾽av cry out; his soul trembles.

לִבִּי֙ לְמוֹאָ֣ב יִזְעָ֔ק בְּרִיחֶ֕הָ עַד־צֹ֖עַר עֶגְלַ֣ת שְׁלִשִׁיָּ֑ה כִּ֣י**׀** מַעֲלֵ֣ה הַלּוּחִ֗ית בִּבְכִי֙ יַֽעֲלֶה־בּ֔וֹ כִּ֚י דֶּ֣רֶךְ חוֹרֹנַ֔יִם זַעֲקַת־שֶׁ֖בֶר יְעֹעֵֽרוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
My heart cries out for Mo᾽av; his fugitives shall flee to Żo῾ar, a heifer of three years old: for by the ascent of Luĥit, with weeping shall they ascend it; for in the way of Ḥoronayim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.


###### Isaiah 15:6

כִּי־מֵ֥י נִמְרִ֖ים מְשַׁמּ֣וֹת יִֽהְי֑וּ כִּֽי־יָבֵ֤שׁ חָצִיר֙ כָּ֣לָה דֶ֔שֶׁא יֶ֖רֶק לֹ֥א הָיָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the nay is withered away, the grass fails, there is no green thing.


###### Isaiah 15:7

עַל־כֵּ֖ן יִתְרָ֣ה עָשָׂ֑ה וּ֨פְקֻדָּתָ֔ם עַ֛ל נַ֥חַל הָעֲרָבִ֖ים יִשָּׂאֽוּם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall the enemy carry away past the wadi of the willows.


###### Isaiah 15:8

כִּי־הִקִּ֥יפָה הַזְּעָקָ֖ה אֶת־גְּב֣וּל מוֹאָ֑ב עַד־אֶגְלַ֙יִם֙ יִלְלָתָ֔הּ וּבְאֵ֥ר אֵילִ֖ים יִלְלָתָֽהּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the cry is gone round about the borders of Mo᾽av; its howling as far as Eglayim, and its roaring to Be᾽er-elim.


###### Isaiah 15:9

כִּ֣י מֵ֤י דִימוֹן֙ מָ֣לְאוּ דָ֔ם כִּֽי־אָשִׁ֥ית עַל־דִּימ֖וֹן נוֹסָפ֑וֹת לִפְלֵיטַ֤ת מוֹאָב֙ אַרְיֵ֔ה וְלִשְׁאֵרִ֖ית אֲדָמָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring yet more upon Dimon: a lion will I bring upon him that escapes of Mo᾽av, and upon the remnant of the land.
