## Isaiah Chapter 19

###### Isaiah 19:1

מַשָּׂ֖א מִצְרָ֑יִם הִנֵּ֨ה יְהֹוָ֜ה רֹכֵ֨ב עַל־עָ֥ב קַל֙ וּבָ֣א מִצְרַ֔יִם וְנָע֞וּ אֱלִילֵ֤י מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ מִפָּנָ֔יו וּלְבַ֥ב מִצְרַ֖יִם יִמַּ֥ס בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The burden of Miżrayim. Behold, the Lord rides upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Miżrayim: and the idols of Miżrayim shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Miżrayim shall melt in the midst of it.

וְסִכְסַכְתִּ֤י מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וְנִלְחֲמ֥וּ אִישׁ־בְּאָחִ֖יו וְאִ֣ישׁ בְּרֵעֵ֑הוּ עִ֣יר בְּעִ֔יר מַמְלָכָ֖ה בְּמַמְלָכָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And I will set Miżrayim against Miżrayim: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.


###### Isaiah 19:3

וְנָבְקָ֤ה רוּחַ־מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ בְּקִרְבּ֔וֹ וַעֲצָת֖וֹ אֲבַלֵּ֑עַ וְדָרְשׁ֤וּ אֶל־הָֽאֱלִילִים֙ וְאֶל־הָ֣אִטִּ֔ים וְאֶל־הָאֹב֖וֹת וְאֶל־הַיִּדְּעֹנִֽים׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the spirit of Miżrayim shall be emptied in his midst; and I will destroy his counsel: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the necromancers, and to the mediums, and to the wizards.


###### Isaiah 19:4

וְסִכַּרְתִּי֙ אֶת־מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּיַ֖ד אֲדֹנִ֣ים קָשֶׁ֑ה וּמֶ֤לֶךְ עַז֙ יִמְשׇׁל־בָּ֔ם נְאֻ֥ם הָאָד֖וֹן יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And I will give over Miżrayim to the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Master, the Lord of hosts.


###### Isaiah 19:5

וְנִשְּׁתוּ־מַ֖יִם מֵֽהַיָּ֑ם וְנָהָ֖ר יֶחֱרַ֥ב וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃

And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.


###### Isaiah 19:6

וְהֶאֶזְנִ֣יחוּ נְהָר֔וֹת דָּלְל֥וּ וְחָרְב֖וּ יְאֹרֵ֣י מָצ֑וֹר קָנֶ֥ה וָס֖וּף קָמֵֽלוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the rivers shall become foul; and the canals of Mażor shall be diminished and dried up: the reeds and rushes shall wither.


###### Isaiah 19:7

עָר֥וֹת עַל־יְא֖וֹר עַל־פִּ֣י יְא֑וֹר וְכֹל֙ מִזְרַ֣ע יְא֔וֹר יִיבַ֥שׁ נִדַּ֖ף וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The meadows by the River, by the mouth of the River, and every thing sown by the River, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.


###### Isaiah 19:8

וְאָנוּ֙ הַדַּיָּגִ֔ים וְאָ֣בְל֔וּ כׇּל־מַשְׁלִיכֵ֥י בַיְא֖וֹר חַכָּ֑ה וּפֹרְשֵׂ֥י מִכְמֹ֛רֶת עַל־פְּנֵי־מַ֖יִם אֻמְלָֽלוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the River shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall be wretched.


###### Isaiah 19:9

וּבֹ֛שׁוּ עֹבְדֵ֥י פִשְׁתִּ֖ים שְׂרִיק֑וֹת וְאֹרְגִ֖ים חוֹרָֽי׃

Moreover they that work in combed flax, and they that weave white cotton, shall be confounded.


###### Isaiah 19:10

וְהָי֥וּ שָׁתֹתֶ֖יהָ מְדֻכָּאִ֑ים כׇּל־עֹ֥שֵׂי שֶׂ֖כֶר אַגְמֵי־נָֽפֶשׁ׃

And its foundations shall be broken; all that make dams shall be sad in their soul.


###### Isaiah 19:11

אַךְ־אֱוִלִים֙ שָׂ֣רֵי צֹ֔עַן חַכְמֵי֙ יֹעֲצֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה עֵצָ֖ה נִבְעָרָ֑ה אֵ֚יךְ תֹּאמְר֣וּ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה בֶּן־חֲכָמִ֥ים אֲנִ֖י בֶּן־מַלְכֵי־קֶֽדֶם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Surely the princes of Żo῾an are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Par῾o is become brutish: how can you say to Par῾o, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?


###### Isaiah 19:12

אַיָּם֙ אֵפ֣וֹא חֲכָמֶ֔יךָ וְיַגִּ֥ידוּ נָ֖א לָ֑ךְ וְיֵ֣דְע֔וּ מַה־יָּעַ֛ץ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת עַל־מִצְרָֽיִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the Lord of hosts has purposed concerning Miżrayim.


###### Isaiah 19:13

נֽוֹאֲלוּ֙ שָׂ֣רֵי צֹ֔עַן נִשְּׁא֖וּ שָׂ֣רֵי נֹ֑ף הִתְע֥וּ אֶת־מִצְרַ֖יִם פִּנַּ֥ת שְׁבָטֶֽיהָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The princes of Żo῾an are become fools, the princes of Nof are deceived; they have also made Miżrayim go astray, those that are the stay of its tribes.


###### Isaiah 19:14

יְהֹוָ֛ה מָסַ֥ךְ בְּקִרְבָּ֖הּ ר֣וּחַ עִוְעִ֑ים וְהִתְע֤וּ אֶת־מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ בְּכׇֽל־מַעֲשֵׂ֔הוּ כְּהִתָּע֥וֹת שִׁכּ֖וֹר בְּקִיאֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The Lord has mingled a spirit of confusion in the midst of her: and they have caused Miżrayim to err in all its work, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.


###### Isaiah 19:15

וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה לְמִצְרַ֖יִם מַעֲשֶׂ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר יַעֲשֶׂ֛ה רֹ֥אשׁ וְזָנָ֖ב כִּפָּ֥ה וְאַגְמֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Neither shall there be any work for Miżrayim which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.


###### Isaiah 19:16

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא יִהְיֶ֥ה מִצְרַ֖יִם כַּנָּשִׁ֑ים וְחָרַ֣ד**׀** וּפָחַ֗ד מִפְּנֵי֙ תְּנוּפַת֙ יַד־יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־ה֖וּא מֵנִ֥יף עָלָֽיו׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In that day shall Miżrayim be like women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shakes over it.


###### Isaiah 19:17

וְ֠הָיְתָ֠ה אַדְמַ֨ת יְהוּדָ֤ה לְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ לְחׇגָּ֔א כֹּל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַזְכִּ֥יר אֹתָ֛הּ אֵלָ֖יו יִפְחָ֑ד מִפְּנֵ֗י עֲצַת֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־ה֖וּא יוֹעֵ֥ץ עָלָֽיו׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the land of Yehuda shall be a trembling to Miżrayim, every one to whom one makes mention of that shall be afraid, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he has determined against it.


###### Isaiah 19:18

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֡וּא יִהְיוּ֩ חָמֵ֨שׁ עָרִ֜ים בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֗יִם מְדַבְּרוֹת֙ שְׂפַ֣ת כְּנַ֔עַן וְנִשְׁבָּע֖וֹת לַיהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֑וֹת עִ֣יר הַהֶ֔רֶס יֵאָמֵ֖ר לְאֶחָֽת׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In that day there shall be five cities in the land of Miżrayim, speaking the language of Kena῾an and swearing by the Lord of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.


###### Isaiah 19:19

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶ֤ה מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה בְּת֖וֹךְ אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וּמַצֵּבָ֥ה אֵצֶל־גְּבוּלָ֖הּ לַֽיהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Miżrayim, and a pillar at its border to the Lord.


###### Isaiah 19:20

וְהָיָ֨ה לְא֥וֹת וּלְעֵ֛ד לַיהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּֽי־יִצְעֲק֤וּ אֶל־יְהֹוָה֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י לֹחֲצִ֔ים וְיִשְׁלַ֥ח לָהֶ֛ם מוֹשִׁ֥יעַ וָרָ֖ב וְהִצִּילָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And it shall be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Miżrayim: for they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them one that shall save them and plead for them, and he shall deliver them.


###### Isaiah 19:21

וְנוֹדַ֤ע יְהֹוָה֙ לְמִצְרַ֔יִם וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֛יִם אֶת־יְהֹוָ֖ה בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא וְעָֽבְדוּ֙ זֶ֣בַח וּמִנְחָ֔ה וְנָדְרוּ־נֵ֥דֶר לַיהֹוָ֖ה וְשִׁלֵּֽמוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the Lord shall be known to Miżrayim, and Miżrayim shall know the Lord on that day, and shall do sacrifice and meal offering; and they shall vow a vow to the Lord, and perform it.


###### Isaiah 19:22

וְנָגַ֧ף יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־מִצְרַ֖יִם נָגֹ֣ף וְרָפ֑וֹא וְשָׁ֙בוּ֙ עַד־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְנֶעְתַּ֥ר לָהֶ֖ם וּרְפָאָֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the Lord shall smite Miżrayim: he shall smite and heal: and they shall return to the Lord, and he shall be entreated of them, and shall heal them.


###### Isaiah 19:23

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא תִּהְיֶ֨ה מְסִלָּ֤ה מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙ אַשּׁ֔וּרָה וּבָא־אַשּׁ֥וּר בְּמִצְרַ֖יִם וּמִצְרַ֣יִם בְּאַשּׁ֑וּר וְעָבְד֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם אֶת־אַשּֽׁוּר׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In that day there shall be a highway out of Miżrayim to Ashshur, and Ashshur shall come into Miżrayim, and Miżrayim to Ashshur, and Miżrayim shall worship with Ashshur.


###### Isaiah 19:24

בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִהְיֶ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ שְׁלִ֣ישִׁיָּ֔ה לְמִצְרַ֖יִם וּלְאַשּׁ֑וּר בְּרָכָ֖ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָאָֽרֶץ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In that day shall Yisra᾽el be the third with Miżrayim and with Ashshur, a blessing in the midst of the land:


###### Isaiah 19:25

אֲשֶׁ֧ר בֵּרְכ֛וֹ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת לֵאמֹ֑ר בָּר֨וּךְ עַמִּ֜י מִצְרַ֗יִם וּמַעֲשֵׂ֤ה יָדַי֙ אַשּׁ֔וּר וְנַחֲלָתִ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Miżrayim my people, and Ashshur the work of my hands, and Yisra᾽el my inheritance.
