## Isaiah Chapter 46

###### Isaiah 46:1

כָּרַ֥ע בֵּל֙ קֹרֵ֣ס נְב֔וֹ הָיוּ֙ עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֔ם לַחַיָּ֖ה וְלַבְּהֵמָ֑ה נְשֻׂאֹתֵיכֶ֣ם עֲמוּס֔וֹת מַשָּׂ֖א לַעֲיֵפָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Bel bows down, Nevo stoops, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle; the things you carry are laden as a burden on the weary beast.


###### Isaiah 46:2

קָרְס֤וּ כָֽרְעוּ֙ יַחְדָּ֔ו לֹ֥א יָכְל֖וּ מַלֵּ֣ט מַשָּׂ֑א וְנַפְשָׁ֖ם בַּשְּׁבִ֥י הָלָֽכָה׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity.

שִׁמְע֤וּ אֵלַי֙ בֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְכׇל־שְׁאֵרִ֖ית בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הַֽעֲמֻסִים֙ מִנִּי־בֶ֔טֶן הַנְּשֻׂאִ֖ים מִנִּי־רָֽחַם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Hearken to me, O house of Ya῾aqov, and all the remnant of the house of Yisra᾽el, who are borne by me from birth, who are carried from the womb:


###### Isaiah 46:4

וְעַד־זִקְנָה֙ אֲנִ֣י ה֔וּא וְעַד־שֵׂיבָ֖ה אֲנִ֣י אֶסְבֹּ֑ל אֲנִ֤י עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ וַאֲנִ֣י אֶשָּׂ֔א וַאֲנִ֥י אֶסְבֹּ֖ל וַאֲמַלֵּֽט׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and even to your old age I am the same; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; and I will carry, and will deliver you.

לְמִ֥י תְדַמְּי֖וּנִי וְתַשְׁו֑וּ וְתַמְשִׁל֖וּנִי וְנִדְמֶֽה׃

To whom will you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?


###### Isaiah 46:6

הַזָּלִ֤ים זָהָב֙ מִכִּ֔יס וְכֶ֖סֶף בַּקָּנֶ֣ה יִשְׁקֹ֑לוּ יִשְׂכְּר֤וּ צוֹרֵף֙ וְיַעֲשֵׂ֣הוּ אֵ֔ל יִסְגְּד֖וּ אַף־יִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֽוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They that scatter gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he makes it a god; they fall down, indeed, they prostrate themselves.


###### Isaiah 46:7

יִ֠שָּׂאֻ֠הוּ עַל־כָּתֵ֨ף יִסְבְּלֻ֜הוּ וְיַנִּיחֻ֤הוּ תַחְתָּיו֙ וְיַֽעֲמֹ֔ד מִמְּקוֹמ֖וֹ לֹ֣א יָמִ֑ישׁ אַף־יִצְעַ֤ק אֵלָיו֙ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲנֶ֔ה מִצָּרָת֖וֹ לֹ֥א יוֹשִׁיעֶֽנּוּ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he stands; from his place he cannot move: even if one shall cry out to him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.


###### Isaiah 46:8

זִכְרוּ־זֹ֖את וְהִתְאֹשָׁ֑שׁוּ הָשִׁ֥יבוּ פוֹשְׁעִ֖ים עַל־לֵֽב׃

Remember this, and show yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O transgressors.


###### Isaiah 46:9

זִכְר֥וּ רִאשֹׁנ֖וֹת מֵעוֹלָ֑ם כִּ֣י אָנֹכִ֥י אֵל֙ וְאֵ֣ין ע֔וֹד אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְאֶ֥פֶס כָּמֽוֹנִי׃

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,


###### Isaiah 46:10

מַגִּ֤יד מֵֽרֵאשִׁית֙ אַחֲרִ֔ית וּמִקֶּ֖דֶם אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־נַֽעֲשׂ֑וּ אֹמֵר֙ עֲצָתִ֣י תָק֔וּם וְכׇל־חֶפְצִ֖י אֶעֱשֶֽׂה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:


###### Isaiah 46:11

קֹרֵ֤א מִמִּזְרָח֙ עַ֔יִט מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מֶרְחָ֖ק אִ֣ישׁ (עצתו) [עֲצָתִ֑י] אַף־דִּבַּ֙רְתִּי֙ אַף־אֲבִיאֶ֔נָּה יָצַ֖רְתִּי אַף־אֶעֱשֶֽׂנָּה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
calling an eagle from the east, the man that executes my counsel from a far country: I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it. I will also do it.


###### Isaiah 46:12

שִׁמְע֥וּ אֵלַ֖י אַבִּ֣ירֵי לֵ֑ב הָרְחוֹקִ֖ים מִצְּדָקָֽה׃

Hearken to me, you stout-hearted, that are far from righteous­ness:


###### Isaiah 46:13

קֵרַ֤בְתִּי צִדְקָתִי֙ לֹ֣א תִרְחָ֔ק וּתְשׁוּעָתִ֖י לֹ֣א תְאַחֵ֑ר וְנָתַתִּ֤י בְצִיּוֹן֙ תְּשׁוּעָ֔ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל תִּפְאַרְתִּֽי׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Żiyyon for Yisra᾽el my glory.
