## Isaiah Chapter 47

###### Isaiah 47:1

רְדִ֣י**׀** וּשְׁבִ֣י עַל־עָפָ֗ר בְּתוּלַת֙ בַּת־בָּבֶ֔ל שְׁבִי־לָאָ֥רֶץ אֵין־כִּסֵּ֖א בַּת־כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כִּ֣י לֹ֤א תוֹסִ֙יפִי֙ יִקְרְאוּ־לָ֔ךְ רַכָּ֖ה וַעֲנֻגָּֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Bavel, sit on the ground: without a throne, O daughter of Kasdim: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.


###### Isaiah 47:2

קְחִ֥י רֵחַ֖יִם וְטַ֣חֲנִי קָ֑מַח גַּלִּ֨י צַמָּתֵ֧ךְ חֶשְׂפִּי־שֹׁ֛בֶל גַּלִּי־שׁ֖וֹק עִבְרִ֥י נְהָרֽוֹת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, tuck up the train, uncover the leg, pass over the rivers.


###### Isaiah 47:3

תִּגָּל֙ עֶרְוָתֵ֔ךְ גַּ֥ם תֵּרָאֶ֖ה חֶרְפָּתֵ֑ךְ נָקָ֣ם אֶקָּ֔ח וְלֹ֥א אֶפְגַּ֖ע אָדָֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will spare no man.


###### Isaiah 47:4

גֹּאֲלֵ֕נוּ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמ֑וֹ קְד֖וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Yisra᾽el.


###### Isaiah 47:5

שְׁבִ֥י דוּמָ֛ם וּבֹ֥אִי בַחֹ֖שֶׁךְ בַּת־כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים כִּ֣י לֹ֤א תוֹסִ֙יפִי֙ יִקְרְאוּ־לָ֔ךְ גְּבֶ֖רֶת מַמְלָכֽוֹת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of Kasdim: for thou shalt no more be called, The mistress of kingdoms.


###### Isaiah 47:6

קָצַ֣פְתִּי עַל־עַמִּ֗י חִלַּ֙לְתִּי֙ נַחֲלָתִ֔י וָאֶתְּנֵ֖ם בְּיָדֵ֑ךְ לֹא־שַׂ֤מְתְּ לָהֶם֙ רַחֲמִ֔ים עַל־זָקֵ֕ן הִכְבַּ֥דְתְּ עֻלֵּ֖ךְ מְאֹֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
I was angry with my people, I have profaned my inheritance, and given them into thy hand: thou didst show them no mercy; upon the aged hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.


###### Isaiah 47:7

וַתֹּ֣אמְרִ֔י לְעוֹלָ֖ם אֶהְיֶ֣ה גְבָ֑רֶת עַ֣ד לֹא־שַׂ֥מְתְּ אֵ֙לֶּה֙ עַל־לִבֵּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א זָכַ֖רְתְּ אַחֲרִיתָֽהּ׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And thou didst say I shall be mistress for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.


###### Isaiah 47:8

וְעַתָּ֞ה שִׁמְעִי־זֹ֤את עֲדִינָה֙ הַיּוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת לָבֶ֔טַח הָאֹֽמְרָה֙ בִּלְבָבָ֔הּ אֲנִ֖י וְאַפְסִ֣י ע֑וֹד לֹ֤א אֵשֵׁב֙ אַלְמָנָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א אֵדַ֖ע שְׁכֽוֹל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest securely, that sayst in thy heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children.


###### Isaiah 47:9

וְתָבֹ֩אנָה֩ לָּ֨ךְ שְׁתֵּי־אֵ֥לֶּה רֶ֛גַע בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד שְׁכ֣וֹל וְאַלְמֹ֑ן כְּתֻמָּם֙ בָּ֣אוּ עָלַ֔יִךְ בְּרֹ֣ב כְּשָׁפַ֔יִךְ בְּעׇצְמַ֥ת חֲבָרַ֖יִךְ מְאֹֽד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their full measure for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thy enchantments.


###### Isaiah 47:10

וַתִּבְטְחִ֣י בְרָעָתֵ֗ךְ אָמַרְתְּ֙ אֵ֣ין רֹאָ֔נִי חׇכְמָתֵ֥ךְ וְדַעְתֵּ֖ךְ הִ֣יא שׁוֹבְבָ֑תֶךְ וַתֹּאמְרִ֣י בְלִבֵּ֔ךְ אֲנִ֖י וְאַפְסִ֥י עֽוֹד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None sees me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it has perverted thee; and thou hast said in thy heart, I am, and none else beside me.


###### Isaiah 47:11

וּבָ֧א עָלַ֣יִךְ רָעָ֗ה לֹ֤א תֵֽדְעִי֙ שַׁחְרָ֔הּ וְתִפֹּ֤ל עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ הֹוָ֔ה לֹ֥א תוּכְלִ֖י כַּפְּרָ֑הּ וְתָבֹ֨א עָלַ֧יִךְ פִּתְאֹ֛ם שֹׁאָ֖ה לֹ֥א תֵדָֽעִי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore shall evil come upon thee: thou shalt not know how to charm it away: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and ruin shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.


###### Isaiah 47:12

עִמְדִי־נָ֤א בַחֲבָרַ֙יִךְ֙ וּבְרֹ֣ב כְּשָׁפַ֔יִךְ בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָגַ֖עַתְּ מִנְּעוּרָ֑יִךְ אוּלַ֛י תּוּכְלִ֥י הוֹעִ֖יל אוּלַ֥י תַּעֲרֽוֹצִי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Stand now with thy enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; perhaps thou shalt be able to profit, perhaps thou shalt inspire terror.


###### Isaiah 47:13

נִלְאֵ֖ית בְּרֹ֣ב עֲצָתָ֑יִךְ יַעַמְדוּ־נָ֨א וְיוֹשִׁיעֻ֜ךְ (הברו) [הֹבְרֵ֣י] שָׁמַ֗יִם הַחֹזִים֙ בַּכּ֣וֹכָבִ֔ים מֽוֹדִעִים֙ לֶחֳדָשִׁ֔ים מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר יָבֹ֖אוּ עָלָֽיִךְ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.


###### Isaiah 47:14

הִנֵּ֨ה הָי֤וּ כְקַשׁ֙ אֵ֣שׁ שְׂרָפָ֔תַם לֹא־יַצִּ֥ילוּ אֶת־נַפְשָׁ֖ם מִיַּ֣ד לֶהָבָ֑ה אֵין־גַּחֶ֣לֶת לַחְמָ֔ם א֖וּר לָשֶׁ֥בֶת נֶגְדּֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.


###### Isaiah 47:15

כֵּ֥ן הָיוּ־לָ֖ךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָגָ֑עַתְּ סֹחֲרַ֣יִךְ מִנְּעוּרַ֗יִךְ אִ֤ישׁ לְעֶבְרוֹ֙ תָּע֔וּ אֵ֖ין מוֹשִׁיעֵֽךְ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus shall those be to thee with whom thou hast laboured, with whom thou hast traded, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his own quarter, none shall save thee.
