## Isaiah Chapter 65

###### Isaiah 65:1

נִדְרַ֙שְׁתִּי֙ לְל֣וֹא שָׁאָ֔לוּ נִמְצֵ֖אתִי לְלֹ֣א בִקְשֻׁ֑נִי אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ הִנֵּ֣נִי הִנֵּ֔נִי אֶל־גּ֖וֹי לֹא־קֹרָ֥א בִשְׁמִֽי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me. I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me. I said, Here I am, here I am, to a nation that was not called by my name.


###### Isaiah 65:2

פֵּרַ֧שְׂתִּי יָדַ֛י כׇּל־הַיּ֖וֹם אֶל־עַ֣ם סוֹרֵ֑ר הַהֹֽלְכִים֙ הַדֶּ֣רֶךְ לֹא־ט֔וֹב אַחַ֖ר מַחְשְׁבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
I have spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, which walks in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;


###### Isaiah 65:3

הָעָ֗ם הַמַּכְעִסִ֥ים אֹתִ֛י עַל־פָּנַ֖י תָּמִ֑יד זֹֽבְחִים֙ בַּגַּנּ֔וֹת וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים עַל־הַלְּבֵנִֽים׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
a people that provoke me to anger continually to my face; that sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense upon altars of brick;


###### Isaiah 65:4

הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙ בַּקְּבָרִ֔ים וּבַנְּצוּרִ֖ים יָלִ֑ינוּ הָאֹֽכְלִים֙ בְּשַׂ֣ר הַחֲזִ֔יר (ופרק) [וּמְרַ֥ק] פִּגֻּלִ֖ים כְּלֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
that sit on the graves, and spend the night in vaults, that eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;


###### Isaiah 65:5

הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ קְרַ֣ב אֵלֶ֔יךָ אַל־תִּגַּשׁ־בִּ֖י כִּ֣י קְדַשְׁתִּ֑יךָ אֵ֚לֶּה עָשָׁ֣ן בְּאַפִּ֔י אֵ֥שׁ יֹקֶ֖דֶת כׇּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
that say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all the day.


###### Isaiah 65:6

הִנֵּ֥ה כְתוּבָ֖ה לְפָנָ֑י לֹ֤א אֶֽחֱשֶׁה֙ כִּ֣י אִם־שִׁלַּ֔מְתִּי וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֖י עַל־חֵיקָֽם׃

Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will repay,


###### Isaiah 65:7

עֲ֠וֺנֹֽתֵיכֶ֠ם וַעֲוֺנֹ֨ת אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֤ם יַחְדָּו֙ אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר קִטְּרוּ֙ עַל־הֶ֣הָרִ֔ים וְעַל־הַגְּבָע֖וֹת חֵרְפ֑וּנִי וּמַדֹּתִ֧י פְעֻלָּתָ֛ם רִאשֹׁנָ֖ה (על) [אֶל־]חֵיקָֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
indeed I will pay home into their bosoms your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, says the Lord, who burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills: therefore will I repay their former work in full measure into their bosom.


###### Isaiah 65:8

כֹּ֣ה**׀** אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר יִמָּצֵ֤א הַתִּירוֹשׁ֙ בָּֽאֶשְׁכּ֔וֹל וְאָמַר֙ אַל־תַּשְׁחִיתֵ֔הוּ כִּ֥י בְרָכָ֖ה בּ֑וֹ כֵּ֤ן אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ לְמַ֣עַן עֲבָדַ֔י לְבִלְתִּ֖י הַֽשְׁחִ֥ית הַכֹּֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus says the Lord, As the wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants’ sakes that I may not destroy them all.


###### Isaiah 65:9

וְהוֹצֵאתִ֤י מִֽיַּעֲקֹב֙ זֶ֔רַע וּמִֽיהוּדָ֖ה יוֹרֵ֣שׁ הָרָ֑י וִירֵשׁ֣וּהָ בְחִירַ֔י וַעֲבָדַ֖י יִשְׁכְּנוּ־שָֽׁמָּה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And I will bring forth a seed out of Ya῾aqov, and out of Yehuda an inheritor of my mountains: and my chosen ones shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.


###### Isaiah 65:10

וְהָיָ֤ה הַשָּׁרוֹן֙ לִנְוֵה־צֹ֔אן וְעֵ֥מֶק עָכ֖וֹר לְרֵ֣בֶץ בָּקָ֑ר לְעַמִּ֖י אֲשֶׁ֥ר דְּרָשֽׁוּנִי׃

And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of ῾Akhor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.


###### Isaiah 65:11

וְאַתֶּם֙ עֹזְבֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה הַשְּׁכֵחִ֖ים אֶת־הַ֣ר קׇדְשִׁ֑י הַעֹרְכִ֤ים לַגַּד֙ שֻׁלְחָ֔ן וְהַֽמְמַלְאִ֖ים לַמְנִ֥י מִמְסָֽךְ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But you that forsake the Lord that forget my holy mountain, that set out a table for Gad (Fortune,) and fill the cup of liquor for Meni (Destiny,)


###### Isaiah 65:12

וּמָנִ֨יתִי אֶתְכֶ֜ם לַחֶ֗רֶב וְכֻלְּכֶם֙ לַטֶּ֣בַח תִּכְרָ֔עוּ יַ֤עַן קָרָ֙אתִי֙ וְלֹ֣א עֲנִיתֶ֔ם דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם וַתַּעֲשׂ֤וּ הָרַע֙ בְּעֵינַ֔י וּבַאֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־חָפַ֖צְתִּי בְּחַרְתֶּֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
you will I destine for the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear; but did evil before my eyes, and did choose that in which I delighted not.


###### Isaiah 65:13

לָכֵ֞ן כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר**׀** אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה עֲבָדַ֤י׀יֹאכֵ֙לוּ֙ וְאַתֶּ֣ם תִּרְעָ֔בוּ הִנֵּ֧ה עֲבָדַ֛י יִשְׁתּ֖וּ וְאַתֶּ֣ם תִּצְמָ֑אוּ הִנֵּ֧ה עֲבָדַ֛י יִשְׂמָ֖חוּ וְאַתֶּ֥ם תֵּבֹֽשׁוּ׃

Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, my servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed:


###### Isaiah 65:14

הִנֵּ֧ה עֲבָדַ֛י יָרֹ֖נּוּ מִטּ֣וּב לֵ֑ב וְאַתֶּ֤ם תִּצְעֲקוּ֙ מִכְּאֵ֣ב לֵ֔ב וּמִשֵּׁ֥בֶר ר֖וּחַ תְּיֵלִֽילוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.


###### Isaiah 65:15

וְהִנַּחְתֶּ֨ם שִׁמְכֶ֤ם לִשְׁבוּעָה֙ לִבְחִירַ֔י וֶהֱמִֽיתְךָ֖ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה וְלַעֲבָדָ֥יו יִקְרָ֖א שֵׁ֥ם אַחֵֽר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And you shall leave your name for a curse to my chosen ones: for the Lord God shall slay thee and call his servants by another name:


###### Isaiah 65:16

אֲשֶׁ֨ר הַמִּתְבָּרֵ֜ךְ בָּאָ֗רֶץ יִתְבָּרֵךְ֙ בֵּאלֹהֵ֣י אָמֵ֔ן וְהַנִּשְׁבָּ֣ע בָּאָ֔רֶץ יִשָּׁבַ֖ע בֵּאלֹהֵ֣י אָמֵ֑ן כִּ֣י נִשְׁכְּח֗וּ הַצָּרוֹת֙ הָרִ֣אשֹׁנ֔וֹת וְכִ֥י נִסְתְּר֖וּ מֵעֵינָֽי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
so that he who blesses himself on the earth, shall bless himself by the God of truth; and he that swears on the earth, shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from my eyes.


###### Isaiah 65:17

כִּֽי־הִנְנִ֥י בוֹרֵ֛א שָׁמַ֥יִם חֲדָשִׁ֖ים וָאָ֣רֶץ חֲדָשָׁ֑ה וְלֹ֤א תִזָּכַ֙רְנָה֙ הָרִ֣אשֹׁנ֔וֹת וְלֹ֥א תַעֲלֶ֖ינָה עַל־לֵֽב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come to mind.


###### Isaiah 65:18

כִּֽי־אִם־שִׂ֤ישֽׂוּ וְגִ֙ילוּ֙ עֲדֵי־עַ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֖ר אֲנִ֣י בוֹרֵ֑א כִּי֩ הִנְנִ֨י בוֹרֵ֧א אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם גִּילָ֖הֿ וְעַמָּ֥הּ מָשֽׂוֹשׂ׃

But be glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Yerushalayim a rejoicing, and her people a joy.


###### Isaiah 65:19

וְגַלְתִּ֥י בִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וְשַׂשְׂתִּ֣י בְעַמִּ֑י וְלֹא־יִשָּׁמַ֥ע בָּהּ֙ ע֔וֹד ק֥וֹל בְּכִ֖י וְק֥וֹל זְעָקָֽה׃

And I will rejoice in Yerushalayim, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.


###### Isaiah 65:20

לֹא־יִהְיֶ֨ה מִשָּׁ֜ם ע֗וֹד ע֤וּל יָמִים֙ וְזָקֵ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־יְמַלֵּ֖א אֶת־יָמָ֑יו כִּ֣י הַנַּ֗עַר בֶּן־מֵאָ֤ה שָׁנָה֙ יָמ֔וּת וְהַ֣חוֹטֶ֔א בֶּן־מֵאָ֥ה שָׁנָ֖ה יְקֻלָּֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
There shall be no more there an infant who lives a few days, nor an old man that has not filled his days: for the youngest shall die a hundred years old; and the sinner being a hundred years old shall be deemed accursed.


###### Isaiah 65:21

וּבָנ֥וּ בָתִּ֖ים וְיָשָׁ֑בוּ וְנָטְע֣וּ כְרָמִ֔ים וְאָכְל֖וּ פִּרְיָֽם׃

And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.


###### Isaiah 65:22

לֹ֤א יִבְנוּ֙ וְאַחֵ֣ר יֵשֵׁ֔ב לֹ֥א יִטְּע֖וּ וְאַחֵ֣ר יֹאכֵ֑ל כִּֽי־כִימֵ֤י הָעֵץ֙ יְמֵ֣י עַמִּ֔י וּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵיהֶ֖ם יְבַלּ֥וּ בְחִירָֽי׃

They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, and my chosen ones shall long enjoy the work of their hands.


###### Isaiah 65:23

לֹ֤א יִֽיגְעוּ֙ לָרִ֔יק וְלֹ֥א יֵלְד֖וּ לַבֶּהָלָ֑ה כִּ֣י זֶ֜רַע בְּרוּכֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ הֵ֔מָּה וְצֶאֱצָאֵיהֶ֖ם אִתָּֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for confusion, for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.

וְהָיָ֥ה טֶרֶם־יִקְרָ֖אוּ וַאֲנִ֣י אֶעֱנֶ֑ה ע֛וֹד הֵ֥ם מְדַבְּרִ֖ים וַאֲנִ֥י אֶשְׁמָֽע׃

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.


###### Isaiah 65:25

זְאֵ֨ב וְטָלֶ֜ה יִרְע֣וּ כְאֶחָ֗ד וְאַרְיֵה֙ כַּבָּקָ֣ר יֹאכַל־תֶּ֔בֶן וְנָחָ֖שׁ עָפָ֣ר לַחְמ֑וֹ לֹֽא־יָרֵ֧עוּ וְלֹֽא־יַשְׁחִ֛יתוּ בְּכׇל־הַ֥ר קׇדְשִׁ֖י אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox: and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, says the Lord.
