###### Jeremiah 11:1

הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The word that came to Yirmeyahu from the Lord, saying,


###### Jeremiah 11:2

שִׁמְע֕וּ אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֑את וְדִבַּרְתֶּם֙ אֶל־אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה וְעַל־יֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the men of Yehuda, and to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim;


###### Jeremiah 11:3

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּֽה־אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אָר֣וּר הָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יִשְׁמַ֔ע אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַבְּרִ֥ית הַזֹּֽאת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and say to them, Thus says the Lord God of Yisra᾽el; Cursed be the man that obeys not the words of this covenant,


###### Jeremiah 11:4

אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֣יתִי אֶת־אֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֡ם בְּי֣וֹם הוֹצִיאִֽי־אוֹתָ֣ם מֵאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַ֩יִם֩ מִכּ֨וּר הַבַּרְזֶ֜ל לֵאמֹ֗ר שִׁמְע֤וּ בְקוֹלִי֙ וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם אוֹתָ֔ם כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־אֲצַוֶּ֖ה אֶתְכֶ֑ם וִהְיִ֤יתֶם לִי֙ לְעָ֔ם וְאָ֣נֹכִ֔י אֶהְיֶ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם לֵאלֹהִֽים׃

which I commanded your fathers on the day that I brought them out of the land of Miżrayim, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall you be my people, and I will be your God:


###### Jeremiah 11:5

לְמַ֩עַן֩ הָקִ֨ים אֶת־הַשְּׁבוּעָ֜ה אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּי לַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם לָתֵ֤ת לָהֶם֙ אֶ֣רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֛ב וּדְבַ֖שׁ כַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וָאַ֥עַן וָאֹמַ֖ר אָמֵ֥ן׀יְהֹוָֽה׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
that I may perform the oath which I have sworn to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, Amen, O Lord.


###### Jeremiah 11:6

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֵלַ֔י קְרָ֨א אֶת־כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבְחֻצ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם לֵאמֹ֑ר שִׁמְע֗וּ אֶת־דִּבְרֵי֙ הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֔את וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם אוֹתָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Then the Lord said to me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Yehuda, and in the streets of Yerushalayim, saying, Hear the words of this covenant, and do them.


###### Jeremiah 11:7

כִּי֩ הָעֵ֨ד הַעִדֹ֜תִי בַּאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם בְּיוֹם֩ הַעֲלוֹתִ֨י אוֹתָ֜ם מֵאֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ וְעַד־הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה הַשְׁכֵּ֥ם וְהָעֵ֖ד לֵאמֹ֑ר שִׁמְע֖וּ בְּקוֹלִֽי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For I earnestly forewarned your fathers on the day that I brought them up out of the land of Miżrayim, to this day, forewarning them from morning till night, saying, Obey my voice.


###### Jeremiah 11:8

וְלֹ֤א שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ וְלֹא־הִטּ֣וּ אֶת־אׇזְנָ֔ם וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ אִ֕ישׁ בִּשְׁרִיר֖וּת לִבָּ֣ם הָרָ֑ע וָאָבִ֨יא עֲלֵיהֶ֜ם אֶֽת־כׇּל־דִּבְרֵ֧י הַבְּרִית־הַזֹּ֛את אֲשֶׁר־צִוִּ֥יתִי לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת וְלֹ֥א עָשֽׂוּ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the stubbornness of their evil heart: therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not.


###### Jeremiah 11:9

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י נִֽמְצָא־קֶ֙שֶׁר֙ בְּאִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֖י יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃

And the Lord said to me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Yehuda, and among the inhabitants of Yerushalayim.


###### Jeremiah 11:10

שָׁ֩בוּ֩ עַל־עֲוֺנֹ֨ת אֲבוֹתָ֜ם הָרִאשֹׁנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר מֵֽאֲנוּ֙ לִשְׁמ֣וֹעַ אֶת־דְּבָרַ֔י וְהֵ֣מָּה הָלְכ֗וּ אַחֲרֵ֛י אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֲחֵרִ֖ים לְעׇבְדָ֑ם הֵפֵ֤רוּ בֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וּבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֕י אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖תִּי אֶת־אֲבוֹתָֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They have turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they have gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Yisra᾽el and the house of Yehuda have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֤יא אֲלֵיהֶם֙ רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יוּכְל֖וּ לָצֵ֣את מִמֶּ֑נָּה וְזָעֲק֣וּ אֵלַ֔י וְלֹ֥א אֶשְׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore thus says the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry to me, I will not hearken to them.


###### Jeremiah 11:12

וְֽהָלְכ֞וּ עָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה וְיֹֽשְׁבֵי֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ אֶל־הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם מְקַטְּרִ֖ים לָהֶ֑ם וְהוֹשֵׁ֛עַ לֹא־יוֹשִׁ֥יעוּ לָהֶ֖ם בְּעֵ֥ת רָעָתָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Then shall the cities of Yehuda and inhabitants of Yerushalayim go, and cry to the gods to whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.


###### Jeremiah 11:13

כִּ֚י מִסְפַּ֣ר עָרֶ֔יךָ הָי֥וּ אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ יְהוּדָ֑ה וּמִסְפַּ֞ר חֻצ֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם שַׂמְתֶּ֤ם מִזְבְּחוֹת֙ לַבֹּ֔שֶׁת מִזְבְּח֖וֹת לְקַטֵּ֥ר לַבָּֽעַל׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Yehuda; and according to the number of the streets of Yerushalayim have you set up altars to the shameful thing, altars to burn incense to the Ba῾al.


###### Jeremiah 11:14

וְאַתָּ֗ה אַל־תִּתְפַּלֵּל֙ בְּעַד־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה וְאַל־תִּשָּׂ֥א בַעֲדָ֖ם רִנָּ֣ה וּתְפִלָּ֑ה כִּ֣י**׀** אֵינֶ֣נִּי שֹׁמֵ֗עַ בְּעֵ֛ת קׇרְאָ֥ם אֵלַ֖י בְּעַ֥ד רָעָתָֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Therefore pray not thou for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them at the time that they cry to me for their trouble.


###### Jeremiah 11:15

מֶ֣ה לִידִידִ֞י בְּבֵיתִ֗י עֲשׂוֹתָ֤הּ הַֽמְזִמָּ֙תָה֙ הָרַבִּ֔ים וּבְשַׂר־קֹ֖דֶשׁ יַעַבְר֣וּ מֵעָלָ֑יִךְ כִּ֥י רָעָתֵ֖כִי אָ֥ז תַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
What has my beloved to do in my house, seeing she has acted vilely with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou dost rejoice.


###### Jeremiah 11:16

זַ֤יִת רַֽעֲנָן֙ יְפֵ֣ה פְרִי־תֹ֔אַר קָרָ֥א יְהֹוָ֖ה שְׁמֵ֑ךְ לְק֣וֹל**׀** הֲמוּלָּ֣ה גְדֹלָ֗ה הִצִּ֥ית אֵשׁ֙ עָלֶ֔יהָ וְרָע֖וּ דָּלִיּוֹתָֽיו׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The Lord called thy name, A green olive tree, fair with goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he has kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.


###### Jeremiah 11:17

וַיהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ הַנּוֹטֵ֣עַ אוֹתָ֔ךְ דִּבֶּ֥ר עָלַ֖יִךְ רָעָ֑ה בִּ֠גְלַ֠ל רָעַ֨ת בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל וּבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשׂ֥וּ לָהֶ֛ם לְהַכְעִסֵ֖נִי לְקַטֵּ֥ר לַבָּֽעַל׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, has pronounced evil against thee, because of the evil which the house of Yisra᾽el and the house of Yehuda, have done to provoke me to anger in offering incense to the Ba῾al.


###### Jeremiah 11:18

וַיהֹוָ֥ה הוֹדִיעַ֖נִי וָאֵדָ֑עָה אָ֖ז הִרְאִיתַ֥נִי מַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃

And the Lord has given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then Thou didst show me their doings.


###### Jeremiah 11:19

וַאֲנִ֕י כְּכֶ֥בֶשׂ אַלּ֖וּף יוּבַ֣ל לִטְב֑וֹחַ וְלֹֽא־יָדַ֜עְתִּי כִּֽי־עָלַ֣י**׀** חָשְׁב֣וּ מַחֲשָׁב֗וֹת נַשְׁחִ֨יתָה עֵ֤ץ בְּלַחְמוֹ֙ וְנִכְרְתֶ֙נּוּ֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ חַיִּ֔ים וּשְׁמ֖וֹ לֹא־יִזָּכֵ֥ר עֽוֹד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But I was like a gentle lamb brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

וַיהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ שֹׁפֵ֣ט צֶ֔דֶק בֹּחֵ֥ן כְּלָי֖וֹת וָלֵ֑ב אֶרְאֶ֤ה נִקְמָֽתְךָ֙ מֵהֶ֔ם כִּ֥י אֵלֶ֖יךָ גִּלִּ֥יתִי אֶת־רִיבִֽי׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But, O Lord of hosts, that dost judge righteously, that dost try the reins and the heart, let me see Thy vengeance on them: for to Thee have I revealed my cause.

לָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ עַל־אַנְשֵׁ֣י עֲנָת֔וֹת הַֽמְבַקְשִׁ֥ים אֶֽת־נַפְשְׁךָ֖ לֵאמֹ֑ר לֹ֤א תִנָּבֵא֙ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א תָמ֖וּת בְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃{פ}

Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the men of ῾Anatot, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hand:

לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת הִנְנִ֥י פֹקֵ֖ד עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם הַבַּחוּרִים֙ יָמֻ֣תוּ בַחֶ֔רֶב בְּנֵיהֶם֙ וּבְנ֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם יָמֻ֖תוּ בָּרָעָֽב׃

therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine:


###### Jeremiah 11:23

וּשְׁאֵרִ֕ית לֹ֥א תִהְיֶ֖ה לָהֶ֑ם כִּי־אָבִ֥יא רָעָ֛ה אֶל־אַנְשֵׁ֥י עֲנָת֖וֹת שְׁנַ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of ῾Anatot, the year of their punishment.
