## Jeremiah Chapter 33

###### Jeremiah 33:1

וַיְהִ֧י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ שֵׁנִ֑ית וְהוּא֙ עוֹדֶ֣נּוּ עָצ֔וּר בַּחֲצַ֥ר הַמַּטָּרָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Moreover the word of the Lord came to Yirmeyahu the second time, while he was still confined in the court of the guard, saying,


###### Jeremiah 33:2

כֹּה־אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה עֹשָׂ֑הּ יְהֹוָ֗ה יוֹצֵ֥ר אוֹתָ֛הּ לַהֲכִינָ֖הּ יְהֹוָ֥ה שְׁמֽוֹ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus says the Lord the maker of it, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;


###### Jeremiah 33:3

קְרָ֥א אֵלַ֖י וְאֶעֱנֶ֑ךָּ וְאַגִּ֧ידָה לְּךָ֛ גְּדֹל֥וֹת וּבְצֻר֖וֹת לֹ֥א יְדַעְתָּֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Call to me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowst not.


###### Jeremiah 33:4

כִּי֩ כֹ֨ה אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַל־בָּתֵּי֙ הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את וְעַל־בָּתֵּ֖י מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה הַנְּתֻצִ֕ים אֶל־הַסֹּלְל֖וֹת וְאֶל־הֶחָֽרֶב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For thus says the Lord, the God of Yisra᾽el, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Yehuda, which are thrown down to withstand the siege works and the sword;


###### Jeremiah 33:5

בָּאִ֗ים לְהִלָּחֵם֙ אֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים וּלְמַלְאָם֙ אֶת־פִּגְרֵ֣י הָאָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הִכֵּ֥יתִי בְאַפִּ֖י וּבַחֲמָתִ֑י וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר הִסְתַּ֤רְתִּי פָנַי֙ מֵהָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֔את עַ֖ל כׇּל־רָעָתָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
they come to fight with the Kasdim, and thereby to fill them with the dead bodies of those men, whom I shall stay in my anger and in my fury, those on account of whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.


###### Jeremiah 33:6

הִנְנִ֧י מַעֲלֶה־לָּ֛הּ אֲרֻכָ֥ה וּמַרְפֵּ֖א וּרְפָאתִ֑ים וְגִלֵּיתִ֣י לָהֶ֔ם עֲתֶ֥רֶת שָׁל֖וֹם וֶאֱמֶֽת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Behold, I will bring it healing and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.


###### Jeremiah 33:7

וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִי֙ אֶת־שְׁב֣וּת יְהוּדָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת שְׁב֣וּת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּבְנִתִ֖ים כְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And I will cause the captivity of Yehuda and the captivity of Yisra᾽el to return, and will build them, as at the first.


###### Jeremiah 33:8

וְטִ֣הַרְתִּ֔ים מִכׇּל־עֲוֺנָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָֽטְאוּ־לִ֑י וְסָלַחְתִּ֗י (לכול) [לְכׇל־]עֲוֺנֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָֽטְאוּ־לִ֔י וַאֲשֶׁ֖ר פָּ֥שְׁעוּ בִֽי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, in which they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, in which they have sinned against me, and in which they have transgressed against me.


###### Jeremiah 33:9

וְהָ֣יְתָה לִּ֗י לְשֵׁ֤ם שָׂשׂוֹן֙ לִתְהִלָּ֣ה וּלְתִפְאֶ֔רֶת לְכֹ֖ל גּוֹיֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִשְׁמְע֜וּ אֶת־כׇּל־הַטּוֹבָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנֹכִי֙ עֹשֶׂ֣ה אוֹתָ֔ם וּפָחֲד֣וּ וְרָגְז֗וּ עַ֤ל כׇּל־הַטּוֹבָה֙ וְעַ֣ל כׇּל־הַשָּׁל֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י עֹ֥שֶׂה לָּֽהּ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure to it:


###### Jeremiah 33:10

כֹּ֣ה**׀** אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה עוֹד֮ יִשָּׁמַ֣ע בַּמָּקוֹם־הַזֶּה֒ אֲשֶׁר֙ אַתֶּ֣ם אֹֽמְרִ֔ים חָרֵ֣ב ה֔וּא מֵאֵ֥ין אָדָ֖ם וּמֵאֵ֣ין בְּהֵמָ֑ה בְּעָרֵ֤י יְהוּדָה֙ וּבְחֻצ֣וֹת יְרוּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם הַֽנְשַׁמּ֗וֹת מֵאֵ֥ין אָדָ֛ם וּמֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵׁ֖ב וּמֵאֵ֥ין בְּהֵמָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus says the Lord; Again there shall be heard in this place, (which you say shall be desolate without man and without beast, namely, in the cities of Yehuda, and in the desolate streets of Yerushalayim, that are without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,)


###### Jeremiah 33:11

ק֣וֹל שָׂשׂ֞וֹן וְק֣וֹל שִׂמְחָ֗ה ק֣וֹל חָתָן֮ וְק֣וֹל כַּלָּה֒ ק֣וֹל אֹמְרִ֡ים הוֹדוּ֩ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת כִּי־ט֤וֹב יְהֹוָה֙ כִּֽי־לְעוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּ֔וֹ מְבִאִ֥ים תּוֹדָ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה כִּֽי־אָשִׁ֧יב אֶת־שְׁבוּת־הָאָ֛רֶץ כְּבָרִאשֹׁנָ֖ה אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his loyal love endures for ever: when they shall bring the sacrifice of thanksgiving into the house of the Lord. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return, as at the first, says the Lord.


###### Jeremiah 33:12

כֹּה־אָמַר֮ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָאוֹת֒ ע֞וֹד יִהְיֶ֣ה**׀** בַּמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֗ה הֶחָרֵ֛ב מֵאֵין־אָדָ֥ם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָ֖ה וּבְכׇל־עָרָ֑יו נְוֵ֣ה רֹעִ֔ים מַרְבִּצִ֖ים צֹֽאן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus says the Lord of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all its cities, shall be a habitation of shepherds who make their flocks lie down.


###### Jeremiah 33:13

בְּעָרֵ֨י הָהָ֜ר בְּעָרֵ֤י הַשְּׁפֵלָה֙ וּבְעָרֵ֣י הַנֶּ֔גֶב וּבְאֶ֧רֶץ בִּנְיָמִ֛ן וּבִסְבִיבֵ֥י יְרוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וּבְעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה עֹ֣ד תַּעֲבֹ֧רְנָה הַצֹּ֛אן עַל־יְדֵ֥י מוֹנֶ֖ה אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the Negev, and in the land of Binyamin, and in the places about Yerushalayim, and in the cities of Yehuda, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that counts them, says the Lord.


###### Jeremiah 33:14

הִנֵּ֛ה יָמִ֥ים בָּאִ֖ים נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה וַהֲקִֽמֹתִי֙ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַטּ֔וֹב אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֛רְתִּי אֶל־בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְעַל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, when I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Yisra᾽el and to the house of Yehuda.


###### Jeremiah 33:15

בַּיָּמִ֤ים הָהֵם֙ וּבָעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא אַצְמִ֥יחַ לְדָוִ֖ד צֶ֣מַח צְדָקָ֑ה וְעָשָׂ֛ה מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In those days, and at that time, will I cause an offshoot of righteousness to grow up for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.


###### Jeremiah 33:16

בַּיָּמִ֤ים הָהֵם֙ תִּוָּשַׁ֣ע יְהוּדָ֔ה וִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם תִּשְׁכּ֣וֹן לָבֶ֑טַח וְזֶ֥ה אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָא־לָ֖הּ יְהֹוָ֥ה׀צִדְקֵֽנוּ׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
In those days shall Yehuda be saved, and Yerushalayim shall dwell safely: and this is the name whereby she shall be called, namely, The Lord is our righteousness.


###### Jeremiah 33:17

כִּי־כֹ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹא־יִכָּרֵ֣ת לְדָוִ֔ד אִ֕ישׁ יֹשֵׁ֖ב עַל־כִּסֵּ֥א בֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

For thus says the Lord; David shall never lack a man sitting upon the throne of the house of Yisra᾽el;


###### Jeremiah 33:18

וְלַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם לֹא־יִכָּרֵ֥ת אִ֖ישׁ מִלְּפָנָ֑י מַעֲלֶ֨ה עוֹלָ֜ה וּמַקְטִ֥יר מִנְחָ֛ה וְעֹ֥שֶׂה זֶּ֖בַח כׇּל־הַיָּמִֽים׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Neither shall the priests the Levites lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to burn meal offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה אִם־תָּפֵ֙רוּ֙ אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֣י הַיּ֔וֹם וְאֶת־בְּרִיתִ֖י הַלָּ֑יְלָה וּלְבִלְתִּ֛י הֱי֥וֹת יֽוֹמָם־וָלַ֖יְלָה בְּעִתָּֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Thus says the Lord; If you can break My covenant with the day, and My covenant with the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;


###### Jeremiah 33:21

גַּם־בְּרִיתִ֤י תֻפַר֙ אֶת־דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֔י מִהְיֽוֹת־ל֥וֹ בֵ֖ן מֹלֵ֣ךְ עַל־כִּסְא֑וֹ וְאֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֥ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים מְשָֽׁרְתָֽי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
then also My covenant may be broken with David My servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, My ministers.


###### Jeremiah 33:22

אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־יִסָּפֵר֙ צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְלֹ֥א יִמַּ֖ד ח֣וֹל הַיָּ֑ם כֵּ֣ן אַרְבֶּ֗ה אֶת־זֶ֙רַע֙ דָּוִ֣ד עַבְדִּ֔י וְאֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֖ם מְשָֽׁרְתֵ֥י אֹתִֽי׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David My servant, and the Levites that minister to me.

הֲל֣וֹא רָאִ֗יתָ מָֽה־הָעָ֤ם הַזֶּה֙ דִּבְּר֣וּ לֵאמֹ֔ר שְׁתֵּ֣י הַמִּשְׁפָּח֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּחַ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה בָּהֶ֖ם וַיִּמְאָסֵ֑ם וְאֶת־עַמִּי֙ יִנְאָצ֔וּן מִֽהְי֥וֹת ע֖וֹד גּ֥וֹי לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Hast thou not observed what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord has chosen, he has cast them off? thus they have despised My people, so that they should no more be a nation in their sight.


###### Jeremiah 33:25

כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה אִם־לֹ֥א בְרִיתִ֖י יוֹמָ֣ם וָלָ֑יְלָה חֻקּ֛וֹת שָׁמַ֥יִם וָאָ֖רֶץ לֹא־שָֽׂמְתִּי׃

Thus says the Lord; If I have not appointed my covenant with day and night, the ordinances of heaven and earth;


###### Jeremiah 33:26

גַּם־זֶ֣רַע יַעֲקוֹב֩ וְדָוִ֨ד עַבְדִּ֜י אֶמְאַ֗ס מִקַּ֤חַת מִזַּרְעוֹ֙ מֹֽשְׁלִ֔ים אֶל־זֶ֥רַע אַבְרָהָ֖ם יִשְׂחָ֣ק וְיַעֲקֹ֑ב כִּי־[אָשִׁ֥יב] (אשוב) אֶת־שְׁבוּתָ֖ם וְרִחַמְתִּֽים׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
then will I cast away the seed of Ya῾aqov and David my servant, and not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Avraham, Yiżĥaq, and Ya῾aqov. No, for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
