###### Jeremiah 46:1

אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֧ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא עַל־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃

The word of the Lord which came to Yirmeyahu the prophet against the nations;


###### Jeremiah 46:2

לְמִצְרַ֗יִם עַל־חֵ֨יל פַּרְעֹ֤ה נְכוֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם אֲשֶׁר־הָיָ֥ה עַל־נְהַר־פְּרָ֖ת בְּכַרְכְּמִ֑שׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִכָּ֗ה נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל בִּשְׁנַת֙ הָרְבִיעִ֔ית לִיהוֹיָקִ֥ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
against Miżrayim, against the army of Par῾o Nekho, king of Miżrayim, which was by the river Perat in Karkemish, whom Nevukhadreżżar king of Bavel smote in the fourth year of Yehoyaqim the son of Yoshiyyahu king of Yehuda.

עִרְכ֤וּ מָגֵן֙ וְצִנָּ֔ה וּגְשׁ֖וּ לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

Order the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle.


###### Jeremiah 46:4

אִסְר֣וּ הַסּוּסִ֗ים וַֽעֲלוּ֙ הַפָּ֣רָשִׁ֔ים וְהִֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּכוֹבָעִ֑ים מִרְקוּ֙ הָרְמָחִ֔ים לִבְשׁ֖וּ הַסִּרְיֹנֹֽת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Harness the horses; and mount, O horsemen, and stand to with your helmets; polish the spears, and put on the coats of mail.

מַדּ֣וּעַ רָאִ֗יתִי הֵ֣מָּה חַתִּים֮ נְסֹגִ֣ים אָחוֹר֒ וְגִבּוֹרֵיהֶ֣ם יֻכַּ֔תּוּ וּמָנ֥וֹס נָ֖סוּ וְלֹ֣א הִפְנ֑וּ מָג֥וֹר מִסָּבִ֖יב נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Why have I seen them dismayed and turning back? and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled away, and they do not look back: terror all around, says the Lord.


###### Jeremiah 46:6

אַל־יָנ֣וּס הַקַּ֔ל וְאַל־יִמָּלֵ֖ט הַגִּבּ֑וֹר צָפ֙וֹנָה֙ עַל־יַ֣ד נְהַר־פְּרָ֔ת כָּשְׁל֖וּ וְנָפָֽלוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Let not the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; they shall stumble, and fall towards the north by the river Perat.

מִי־זֶ֖ה כַּיְאֹ֣ר יַעֲלֶ֑ה כַּנְּהָר֕וֹת יִֽתְגָּעֲשׁ֖וּ מֵימָֽיו׃

Who is this that rises like the River, and like streams of turbulent waters?


###### Jeremiah 46:8

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ כַּיְאֹ֣ר יַעֲלֶ֔ה וְכַנְּהָר֖וֹת יִתְגֹּ֣עֲשׁוּ מָ֑יִם וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אַֽעֲלֶה֙ אֲכַסֶּה־אֶ֔רֶץ אֹבִ֥ידָה עִ֖יר וְיֹ֥שְׁבֵי בָֽהּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Miżrayim rises like the River, and like streams of turbulent waters: and he says I will go up, and I will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and its inhabitants.


###### Jeremiah 46:9

עֲל֤וּ הַסּוּסִים֙ וְהִתְהֹלְל֣וּ הָרֶ֔כֶב וְיֵצְא֖וּ הַגִּבּוֹרִ֑ים כּ֤וּשׁ וּפוּט֙ תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י מָגֵ֔ן וְלוּדִ֕ים תֹּפְשֵׂ֖י דֹּ֥רְכֵי קָֽשֶׁת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Come up, O horses; and rage, O chariots; and let the mighty men come forth; Kush and Put, that handle the shield; and Ludim, that handle and bend the bow.


###### Jeremiah 46:10

וְֽהַיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא לַֽאדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֣ה צְבָא֗וֹת י֤וֹם נְקָמָה֙ לְהִנָּקֵ֣ם מִצָּרָ֔יו וְאָכְלָ֥ה חֶ֙רֶב֙ וְשָׂ֣בְעָ֔ה וְרָוְתָ֖ה מִדָּמָ֑ם כִּ֣י זֶ֠בַח לַאדֹנָ֨י יֱהֹוִ֧ה צְבָא֛וֹת בְּאֶ֥רֶץ צָפ֖וֹן אֶל־נְהַר־פְּרָֽת׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
For this is the day of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be sated, and drink its fill of their blood: for the Lord God of hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Perat.

עֲלִ֤י גִלְעָד֙ וּקְחִ֣י צֳרִ֔י בְּתוּלַ֖ת בַּת־מִצְרָ֑יִם לַשָּׁוְא֙ (הרביתי) [הִרְבֵּ֣ית] רְפֻא֔וֹת תְּעָלָ֖ה אֵ֥ין לָֽךְ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Go up to Gil῾ad, and take balm, O virgin, daughter of Miżrayim: in vain shalt thou use many medicines; for thou shalt not be cured.


###### Jeremiah 46:12

שָׁמְע֤וּ גוֹיִם֙ קְלוֹנֵ֔ךְ וְצִוְחָתֵ֖ךְ מָלְאָ֣ה הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־גִבּ֤וֹר בְּגִבּוֹר֙ כָּשָׁ֔לוּ יַחְדָּ֖יו נָפְל֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The nations have heard of thy shame, and thy cry has filled the land: for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, and they are both fallen together.


###### Jeremiah 46:13

הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ הַנָּבִ֑יא לָב֗וֹא נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ בָּבֶ֔ל לְהַכּ֖וֹת אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The word that the Lord spoke to Yirmeyahu the prophet, how Nevukhadreżżar king of Bavel should come and smite the land of Miżrayim.


###### Jeremiah 46:14

הַגִּ֤ידוּ בְמִצְרַ֙יִם֙ וְהַשְׁמִ֣יעֽוּ בְמִגְדּ֔וֹל וְהַשְׁמִ֥יעוּ בְנֹ֖ף וּבְתַחְפַּנְחֵ֑ס אִמְר֗וּ הִתְיַצֵּב֙ וְהָכֵ֣ן לָ֔ךְ כִּֽי־אָכְלָ֥ה חֶ֖רֶב סְבִיבֶֽיךָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Declare in Miżrayim, and publish in Migdol, and report in Nof and in Taĥpanĥes: say, Stand to, and prepare thyself; for the sword shall devour round about thee.

מַדּ֖וּעַ נִסְחַ֣ף אַבִּירֶ֑יךָ לֹ֣א עָמַ֔ד כִּ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה הֲדָפֽוֹ׃

Why are thy valiant men swept away? None of them stood, because the Lord did thrust him down.


###### Jeremiah 46:16

הִרְבָּ֖ה כּוֹשֵׁ֑ל גַּם־נָפַ֞ל אִ֣ישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵ֗הוּ וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ ק֣וּמָה**׀** וְנָשֻׁ֣בָה אֶל־עַמֵּ֗נוּ וְאֶל־אֶ֙רֶץ֙ מוֹלַדְתֵּ֔נוּ מִפְּנֵ֖י חֶ֥רֶב הַיּוֹנָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
He made many to fall, indeed, one fell upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.


###### Jeremiah 46:17

קָרְא֖וּ שָׁ֑ם פַּרְעֹ֤ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ שָׁא֔וֹן הֶעֱבִ֖יר הַמּוֹעֵֽד׃

They did cry there, Par῾o king of Miżrayim is but a noise; he has passed the time appointed.


###### Jeremiah 46:18

חַי־אָ֙נִי֙ נְאֻם־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמ֑וֹ כִּ֚י כְּתָב֣וֹר בֶּהָרִ֔ים וּכְכַרְמֶ֖ל בַּיָּ֥ם יָבֽוֹא׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
As I live, says the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts, Surely as Tavor is among the mountains, and as Karmel by the sea, so shall he come.


###### Jeremiah 46:19

כְּלֵ֤י גוֹלָה֙ עֲשִׂ֣י לָ֔ךְ יוֹשֶׁ֖בֶת בַּת־מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּי־נֹף֙ לְשַׁמָּ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֔ה וְנִצְּתָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין יוֹשֵֽׁב׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
O thou daughter dwelling in Miżrayim, furnish thyself with the baggage of Exile: for Nof shall be waste and desolate without inhabitant.


###### Jeremiah 46:20

עֶגְלָ֥ה יְפֵה־פִיָּ֖ה מִצְרָ֑יִם קֶ֥רֶץ מִצָּפ֖וֹן בָּ֥א בָֽא׃

Miżrayim is like a very fair heifer, but destruction comes; it comes out of the north.


###### Jeremiah 46:21

גַּם־שְׂכִרֶ֤יהָ בְקִרְבָּהּ֙ כְּעֶגְלֵ֣י מַרְבֵּ֔ק כִּֽי־גַם־הֵ֧מָּה הִפְנ֛וּ נָ֥סוּ יַחְדָּ֖יו לֹ֣א עָמָ֑דוּ כִּ֣י י֥וֹם אֵידָ֛ם בָּ֥א עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם עֵ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Also her hired men in the midst of her are like fatted bullocks; for they also are turned back, and are fled away together: they did not stand, because the day of their calamity was come upon them, and the time of their punishment.

קוֹלָ֖הּ כַּנָּחָ֣שׁ יֵלֵ֑ךְ כִּֽי־בְחַ֣יִל יֵלֵ֔כוּ וּבְקַרְדֻּמּוֹת֙ בָּ֣אוּ לָ֔הּ כְּחֹטְבֵ֖י עֵצִֽים׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Her sound is like that of a snake on the move; for they shall march with force and come against her with axes, like hewers of wood.


###### Jeremiah 46:23

כָּרְת֤וּ יַעְרָהּ֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּ֖י לֹ֣א יֵחָקֵ֑ר כִּ֤י רַבּוּ֙ מֵֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה וְאֵ֥ין לָהֶ֖ם מִסְפָּֽר׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
They shall cut down her forest, says the Lord, though it cannot be searched; because they are more numerous than locusts, and are innumerable.


###### Jeremiah 46:24

הֹבִ֖ישָׁה בַּת־מִצְרָ֑יִם נִתְּנָ֖ה בְּיַ֥ד עַם־צָפֽוֹן׃

The daughter of Miżrayim shall be confounded; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.

אָמַר֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הִנְנִ֤י פוֹקֵד֙ אֶל־אָמ֣וֹן מִנֹּ֔א וְעַל־פַּרְעֹה֙ וְעַל־מִצְרַ֔יִם וְעַל־אֱלֹהֶ֖יהָ וְעַל־מְלָכֶ֑יהָ וְעַ֨ל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה וְעַ֥ל הַבֹּטְחִ֖ים בּֽוֹ׃

The Lord of hosts, the God of Yisra᾽el, says; Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Par῾o and Miżrayim, with their gods, and their kings; even Par῾o, and all those who trust in him:

וּנְתַתִּ֗ים בְּיַד֙ מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י נַפְשָׁ֔ם וּבְיַ֛ד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶ֖ל וּבְיַד־עֲבָדָ֑יו וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֛ן תִּשְׁכֹּ֥ן כִּֽימֵי־קֶ֖דֶם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nevukhadreżżar king of Bavel, and into the hand of his servants: and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, says the Lord.

וְ֠אַתָּ֠ה אַל־תִּירָ֞א עַבְדִּ֤י יַֽעֲקֹב֙ וְאַל־תֵּחַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֠י הִנְנִ֤י מוֹשִֽׁעֲךָ֙ מֵרָח֔וֹק וְאֶֽת־זַרְעֲךָ֖ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ שִׁבְיָ֑ם וְשָׁ֧ב יַעֲק֛וֹב וְשָׁקַ֥ט וְשַׁאֲנַ֖ן וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But fear not thou, O my servant Ya῾aqov, and be not dismayed, O Yisra᾽el: for, behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Ya῾aqov shall return, and be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

אַ֠תָּ֠ה אַל־תִּירָ֞א עַבְדִּ֤י יַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּ֥י אִתְּךָ֖ אָ֑נִי כִּי֩ אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה כָלָ֜ה בְּכׇֽל־הַגּוֹיִ֣ם**׀** אֲשֶׁ֧ר הִדַּחְתִּ֣יךָ שָּׁ֗מָּה וְאֹֽתְךָ֙ לֹא־אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה כָלָ֔ה וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְנַקֵּ֖ה לֹ֥א אֲנַקֶּֽךָּ׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Fear thou not, O Ya῾aqov my servant, says the Lord: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in due measure; yet will I not utterly destroy thee.
