## Joshua Chapter 18

###### Joshua 18:1

וַיִּקָּ֨הֲל֜וּ כׇּל־עֲדַ֤ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ שִׁלֹ֔ה וַיַּשְׁכִּ֥ינוּ שָׁ֖ם אֶת־אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְהָאָ֥רֶץ נִכְבְּשָׁ֖ה לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the whole congregation of the children of Yisra᾽el assembled together at Shilo, and set up the Tent of Meeting there. And the land was conquered before them.


###### Joshua 18:2

וַיִּוָּֽתְרוּ֙ בִּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־חָֽלְק֖וּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתָ֑ם שִׁבְעָ֖ה שְׁבָטִֽים׃

And there remained among the children of Yisra᾽el seven tribes, who had not yet received their inheritance.


###### Joshua 18:3

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל עַד־אָ֙נָה֙ אַתֶּ֣ם מִתְרַפִּ֔ים לָבוֹא֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֔ם יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And Yehoshua said to the children of Yisra᾽el, How long will you be remiss in going to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers has given you?


###### Joshua 18:4

הָב֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה אֲנָשִׁ֖ים לַשָּׁ֑בֶט וְאֶשְׁלָחֵ֗ם וְיָקֻ֜מוּ וְיִֽתְהַלְּכ֥וּ בָאָ֛רֶץ וְיִכְתְּב֥וּ אוֹתָ֛הּ לְפִ֥י נַחֲלָתָ֖ם וְיָבֹ֥אוּ אֵלָֽי׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Assign from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and mark it out according to their inheritance; and they shall come back to me.


###### Joshua 18:5

וְהִֽתְחַלְּק֥וּ אֹתָ֖הּ לְשִׁבְעָ֣ה חֲלָקִ֑ים יְהוּדָ֞ה יַעֲמֹ֤ד עַל־גְּבוּלוֹ֙ מִנֶּ֔גֶב וּבֵ֥ית יוֹסֵ֛ף יַעַמְד֥וּ עַל־גְּבוּלָ֖ם מִצָּפֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And they shall divide it into seven parts: Yehuda shall remain on his boundary in the south, and the house of Yosef shall remain on their boundaries to the north.


###### Joshua 18:6

וְאַתֶּ֞ם תִּכְתְּב֤וּ אֶת־הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ שִׁבְעָ֣ה חֲלָקִ֔ים וַהֲבֵאתֶ֥ם אֵלַ֖י הֵ֑נָּה וְיָרִ֨יתִי לָכֶ֤ם גּוֹרָל֙ פֹּ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
You shall therefore mark out the land in seven parts, and bring the description to me here, that I may cast lots for you here before the Lord our God.


###### Joshua 18:7

כִּ֠י אֵֽין־חֵ֤לֶק לַלְוִיִּם֙ בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֔ם כִּֽי־כְהֻנַּ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה נַחֲלָת֑וֹ וְגָ֡ד וּרְאוּבֵ֡ן וַחֲצִי֩ שֵׁ֨בֶט הַֽמְנַשֶּׁ֜ה לָקְח֣וּ נַחֲלָתָ֗ם מֵעֵ֤בֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה אֲשֶׁר֙ נָתַ֣ן לָהֶ֔ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֥בֶד יְהֹוָֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: and Gad, and Re᾽uven, and half the tribe of Menashshe, have received their inheritance beyond the Yarden on the east, that which Moshe the servant of the Lord gave them.

וַיָּקֻ֥מוּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים וַיֵּלֵ֑כוּ וַיְצַ֣ו יְהוֹשֻׁ֡עַ אֶת־הַהֹלְכִים֩ לִכְתֹּ֨ב אֶת־הָאָ֜רֶץ לֵאמֹ֗ר לְ֠כ֠וּ וְהִתְהַלְּכ֨וּ בָאָ֜רֶץ וְכִתְב֤וּ אוֹתָהּ֙ וְשׁ֣וּבוּ אֵלַ֔י וּ֠פֹ֠ה אַשְׁלִ֨יךְ לָכֶ֥ם גּוֹרָ֛ל לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּשִׁלֹֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the men arose, and went away: and Yehoshua charged them that went to mark out the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and mark it out, and come back to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shilo.

וַיֵּלְכ֤וּ הָאֲנָשִׁים֙ וַיַּעַבְר֣וּ בָאָ֔רֶץ וַיִּכְתְּב֧וּהָ לֶעָרִ֛ים לְשִׁבְעָ֥ה חֲלָקִ֖ים עַל־סֵ֑פֶר וַיָּבֹ֧אוּ אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה שִׁלֹֽה׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the men went and passed through the land, and wrote it down by cities into seven parts in a book, and came back to Yehoshua to the camp at Shilo.


###### Joshua 18:10

וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֩ לָהֶ֨ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֧עַ גּוֹרָ֛ל בְּשִׁלֹ֖ה לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיְחַלֶּק־שָׁ֨ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֧עַ אֶת־הָאָ֛רֶץ לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כְּמַחְלְקֹתָֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And Yehoshua cast lots for them in Shilo before the Lord: and there Yehoshua divided the land to the children of Yisra᾽el according to their divisions.


###### Joshua 18:11

וַיַּ֗עַל גּוֹרַ֛ל מַטֵּ֥ה בְנֵֽי־בִנְיָמִ֖ן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֑ם וַיֵּצֵא֙ גְּב֣וּל גּוֹרָלָ֔ם בֵּ֚ין בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וּבֵ֖ין בְּנֵ֥י יוֹסֵֽף׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the lot of the tribe of the children of Binyamin came up according to their families: and the border of their lot came out between the children of Yehuda and the children of Yosef.

וַיְהִ֨י לָהֶ֧ם הַגְּב֛וּל לִפְאַ֥ת צָפ֖וֹנָה מִן־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְעָלָ֣ה הַגְּבוּל֩ אֶל־כֶּ֨תֶף יְרִיח֜וֹ מִצָּפ֗וֹן וְעָלָ֤ה בָהָר֙ יָ֔מָּה (והיה) [וְהָיוּ֙] תֹּֽצְאֹתָ֔יו מִדְבַּ֖רָה בֵּ֥ית אָֽוֶן׃

And their border on the north side was from the Yarden; and the border went up to the side of Yeriĥo on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and its terminations were at the wilderness of Bet-aven.

וְעָבַר֩ מִשָּׁ֨ם הַגְּב֜וּל ל֗וּזָה אֶל־כֶּ֤תֶף ל֙וּזָה֙ נֶ֔גְבָּה הִ֖יא בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל וְיָרַ֤ד הַגְּבוּל֙ עַטְר֣וֹת אַדָּ֔ר עַל־הָהָ֕ר אֲשֶׁ֛ר מִנֶּ֥גֶב לְבֵית־חֹר֖וֹן תַּחְתּֽוֹן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the border went over from thence towards Luz, to the south side of Luz, which is Bet-el; and the border descended to ῾Atrot-addar, near the hill that lies on the south side of the lower Bet-ĥoron.

וְתָאַ֣ר הַגְּבוּל֩ וְנָסַ֨ב לִפְאַת־יָ֜ם נֶ֗גְבָּה מִן־הָהָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל־פְּנֵ֥י בֵית־חֹרוֹן֮ נֶ֒גְבָּה֒ (והיה) [וְהָי֣וּ] תֹצְאֹתָ֗יו אֶל־קִרְיַת־בַּ֙עַל֙ הִ֚יא קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֔ים עִ֖יר בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֑ה זֹ֖את פְּאַת־יָֽם׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the border was drawn, and turned about at its western corner to the south, from the hill that lies before Bet-ĥoron southward; and its terminations were at Qiryat-ba῾al, which is Qiryat-ye῾arim, a city of the children of Yehuda: this was the west quarter.


###### Joshua 18:15

וּפְאַת־נֶ֕גְבָּה מִקְצֵ֖ה קִרְיַ֣ת יְעָרִ֑ים וְיָצָ֤א הַגְּבוּל֙ יָ֔מָּה וְיָצָ֕א אֶל־מַעְיַ֖ן מֵ֥י נֶפְתּֽוֹחַ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the south quarter was from the far side of Qiryat-ye῾arim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of the waters of Neftoaĥ:


###### Joshua 18:16

וְיָרַ֨ד הַגְּב֜וּל אֶל־קְצֵ֣ה הָהָ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל־פְּנֵי֙ גֵּ֣י בֶן־הִנֹּ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֛ר בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִ֖ים צָפ֑וֹנָה וְיָרַד֩ גֵּ֨י הִנֹּ֜ם אֶל־כֶּ֤תֶף הַיְבוּסִי֙ נֶ֔גְבָּה וְיָרַ֖ד עֵ֥ין רֹגֵֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and the border came down to the end of the mountain that lies before the valley of Ben-hinnom, and which is in the valley of Refa᾽im on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the slope of the Yevusi on the south, and descended to ῾En-rogel,

וְתָאַ֣ר מִצָּפ֗וֹן וְיָצָא֙ עֵ֣ין שֶׁ֔מֶשׁ וְיָצָא֙ אֶל־גְּלִיל֔וֹת אֲשֶׁר־נֹ֖כַח מַעֲלֵ֣ה אֲדֻמִּ֑ים וְיָרַ֕ד אֶ֥בֶן בֹּ֖הַן בֶּן־רְאוּבֵֽן׃

and was drawn to the north, and went out to ῾En-shemesh, and went out toward Gelilot, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Re᾽uven,

וְעָבַ֛ר אֶל־כֶּ֥תֶף מוּל־הָעֲרָבָ֖ה צָפ֑וֹנָה וְיָרַ֖ד הָעֲרָבָֽתָה׃

and passed along toward the slope over against the ῾Arava northward, and went down to the ῾Arava:


###### Joshua 18:19

וְעָבַ֨ר הַגְּב֜וּל אֶל־כֶּ֣תֶף בֵּית־חׇגְלָה֮ צָפ֒וֹנָה֒ (והיה) [וְהָי֣וּ**׀**] (תצאותיו) [תֹּצְא֣וֹת] הַגְּב֗וּל אֶל־לְשׁ֤וֹן יָם־הַמֶּ֙לַח֙ צָפ֔וֹנָה אֶל־קְצֵ֥ה הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן נֶ֑גְבָּה זֶ֖ה גְּב֥וּל נֶֽגֶב׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and the border passed along the slope of Bet-ĥogla northward: and the terminations of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the southern extremity of the Yarden: this was the south boundary.

וְהַיַּרְדֵּ֥ן יִגְבֹּל־אֹת֖וֹ לִפְאַת־קֵ֑דְמָה זֹ֡את נַחֲלַת֩ בְּנֵ֨י בִנְיָמִ֧ן לִגְבֽוּלֹתֶ֛יהָ סָבִ֖יב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the Yarden was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Binyamin by its border round about, according to their families.

וְהָי֣וּ הֶֽעָרִ֗ים לְמַטֵּ֛ה בְּנֵ֥י בִנְיָמִ֖ן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיהֶ֑ם יְרִיח֥וֹ וּבֵית־חׇגְלָ֖ה וְעֵ֥מֶק קְצִֽיץ׃

Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Binyamin, according to their families were Yeriĥo, and Bet-ĥogla, and the valley of Qeżiż,

וְצֵלַ֡ע הָאֶ֜לֶף וְהַיְבוּסִ֨י הִ֤יא יְרוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ גִּבְעַ֣ת קִרְיַ֔ת עָרִ֥ים אַרְבַּֽע־עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה וְחַצְרֵיהֶ֑ן זֹ֛את נַחֲלַ֥ת בְּנֵֽי־בִנְיָמִ֖ן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and Żela, Elef, and Yevusi (which is Yerushalayim) Giv῾at and Qiryat; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Binyamin according to their families.
