###### Joshua 21:1

וַֽיִּגְּשׁ֗וּ רָאשֵׁי֙ אֲב֣וֹת הַלְוִיִּ֔ם אֶל־אֶלְעָזָר֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְאֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ בִּן־נ֑וּן וְאֶל־רָאשֵׁ֛י אֲב֥וֹת הַמַּטּ֖וֹת לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites to El῾azar the priest, and to Yehoshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Yisra᾽el;


###### Joshua 21:2

וַיְדַבְּר֨וּ אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם בְּשִׁלֹ֗ה בְּאֶ֤רֶץ כְּנַ֙עַן֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר יְהֹוָה֙ צִוָּ֣ה בְיַד־מֹשֶׁ֔ה לָתֶת־לָ֥נוּ עָרִ֖ים לָשָׁ֑בֶת וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֖ן לִבְהֶמְתֵּֽנוּ׃{פ}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and they spoke to them at Shilo in the land of Kena῾an, saying, The Lord gave command by the hand of Moshe to give us cities to dwell in, with their pasture lands for our cattle.

וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל לַלְוִיִּ֛ם מִנַּחֲלָתָ֖ם אֶל־פִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה אֶת־הֶעָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה וְאֶת־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the children of Yisra᾽el gave to the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the Lord, these cities and their pasture lands.

וַיֵּצֵ֥א הַגּוֹרָ֖ל לְמִשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת הַקְּהָתִ֑י וַיְהִ֡י לִבְנֵי֩ אַהֲרֹ֨ן הַכֹּהֵ֜ן מִן־הַלְוִיִּ֗ם מִמַּטֵּ֣ה יְ֠הוּדָ֠ה וּמִמַּטֵּ֨ה הַשִּׁמְעֹנִ֜י וּמִמַּטֵּ֤ה בִנְיָמִן֙ בַּגּוֹרָ֔ל עָרִ֖ים שְׁלֹ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the lot came out in favour of the families of the Qehati: and the children of Aharon the priest, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Yehuda, and out of the tribe of Shim῾on, and out of the tribe of Binyamin, thirteen cities.

וְלִבְנֵ֨י קְהָ֜ת הַנּֽוֹתָרִ֗ים מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת מַטֵּֽה־אֶ֠פְרַ֠יִם וּֽמִמַּטֵּה־דָ֞ן וּמֵחֲצִ֨י מַטֵּ֧ה מְנַשֶּׁ֛ה בַּגּוֹרָ֖ל עָרִ֥ים עָֽשֶׂר׃{ס}

And the rest of the children of Qehat had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Efrayim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Menashshe, ten cities.

וְלִבְנֵ֣י גֵרְשׁ֗וֹן מִמִּשְׁפְּח֣וֹת מַטֵּֽה־יִשָּׂשכָ֣ר וּמִמַּטֵּֽה־אָ֠שֵׁ֠ר וּמִמַּטֵּ֨ה נַפְתָּלִ֜י וּ֠מֵחֲצִ֠י מַטֵּ֨ה מְנַשֶּׁ֤ה בַבָּשָׁן֙ בַּגּוֹרָ֔ל עָרִ֖ים שְׁלֹ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Yissakhar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naftali, and out of the half tribe of Menashshe in Bashan, thirteen cities.

לִבְנֵ֨י מְרָרִ֜י לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֗ם מִמַּטֵּ֨ה רְאוּבֵ֤ן וּמִמַּטֵּה־גָד֙ וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה זְבוּלֻ֔ן עָרִ֖ים שְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃{ס}

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Re᾽uven, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zevulun, twelve cities.

which the children of Aharon, being of the families of the Qehati, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.

וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ לָהֶ֜ם אֶת־קִרְיַת֩ אַרְבַּ֨ע אֲבִ֧י הָעֲנ֛וֹק הִ֥יא חֶבְר֖וֹן בְּהַ֣ר יְהוּדָ֑ה וְאֶת־מִגְרָשֶׁ֖הָ סְבִיבֹתֶֽיהָ׃

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
And they gave them the city of Arba the father of ῾Anaq, which city is Ḥevron, in the hill country of Yehuda, with its pasture lands round about it.

But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Kalev the son of Yefunne for his possession.

Thus they gave to the children of Aharon the priest Ḥevron with its pasture lands, a city of refuge for the slayer; and Livna with its pasture lands,

And the families of the children of Qehat, the Levites who remained of the children of Qehat, had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Efrayim.
