**וירא את עניינו**. כבר כתבנו בפסקת ויריעו אותנו שעצת השעבוד בעבודה קשה תדירית היא מתשת כחם ולא יוכלו לשמש מעתם ובזה יתמעטו אמר עכשו שה' ראה אותו העינוי והוא פרישות ד"א ומביא ראיה וירא אלהים את בנ"י שראה שרוצים למעט בניהם ע"י העינוי ולכן וידע אלהים. והיינו שה' ית' ידע מה לעשות הפך כוונתם דאדרבא כאשר יענו אותו להתמעט כן ירבה וכו' ומלת וידע כמו ואם לא אדעה. שפי' רש"י אדעה מה אעשה ליפרע מהם ביסורין וכו' וכיוצא בזה מצינו ואדעה מה אעשה לך ע"ש:

**Va’yaar et onyay’nu, He saw our affliction:** We already mentioned above that the reason for the constant work of the Israelites was to weaken them so that the men would not engage in procreation with their wives, and in this way it would cause a decrease in the population of the Israelites. The Haggadah now mentions that God saw this affliction and understood the reason for it. He therefore caused the opposite to take place – the more the Egyptians tried to decrease the population of the Israel through slavery, the more they increased in number.
