אני החתום מטה יצחק צוריאנו יושב ראש בית־הכנסת אהל־ישראל מבקש מכב' שיפסק בהלכה בהקדם האפשרי, אם מותר ע"פ הלכה להוציא כספים מקופת בית־הכנסת לצרכי רבים מיחידי בהכ"נ, כדי לבקר בשטחים שנכבשו ע"י צה"ל בעזרת השם, ובכללם: בכותל המערבי והר הזיתים, קבר רחל אמנו, מערת המכפלה, וקבר יוסף הצדיק אשר בשכם, ולהשתטח על קברות הצדיקים ולהפיל תחנתינו לפני ה' בעד אחינו בית ישראל בארץ ובתפוצות.

בתשובה למכתבך מיום א' במנ"א הורני כב' הראשון לציון הרב הראשי לישראל להודיעך כי אין להוציא מכספי בית־הכנסת למטרת ביקורים לכל מקום שהוא לרבות הכותל המערבי, הואיל וכספי בית־הכנסת הם קודש למטרת בית־הכנסת בלבד¹⁰⁶.
