שלום וברכה, פונים אנו בזה לכ"ג בענין נורא. כפי שנמסר בעתונים, רוצים הראביים הקונסרבטיבים לחדש את הרפורמה המסוכנת שלהם בעניני נשואין, היינו נשואין על תנאי, שהציעו לפני יותר מעשרים שנה. כידוע, כבר חרדו אז הגאונים מוה"ר אברהם יצחק הכהן קוק זצ"ל ומוה"ר יעקב מאיר זצ"ל וחבריהם ברבנות הראשית, וגאוני אירופה ואמריקה, ויצאו במחאה עזה וחריפה נגד ההצעה ההיא, הנוגעת בבבת עינה של קדושת המשפחה בישראל וגורמת מכשולים באסור אשת איש, ומרבה ממזרים בישראל. הענין נתפרסם בספר מיוחד בשם "לדור אחרון" שאגודתנו הוציאה לאור בשנת תרצ"ז. בודאי נמצא טופס של "לדור־אחרון" בספרית הרבנות הראשית.

לפני כמה שבועות נתפרסם שוב שארגון הראביים הקונסרבטיבים מתכונן לחדש את הרפורמה המסוכנת הנ"ל. היהדות החרדית באמריקה נזדעזעה מזה ובאסיפה רבתי דחופה של אגודת הרבנים נתקבלה ההצהרה הלוטה פה.

אכן, אין זאת אלא מחמת הבורות שנשתקעו בה מציעי ההצעה, שאין להם כפי הנראה, ידיעה מעמיקה ואחיזה במקורות ההלכה. יבורכו, איפוא, כל העומדים בשער לגדור הפירצה.

הייתי רוצה להעיר בהזדמנות זו, כי לשם חיזוק היהדות והשרשת התורה בקרב עמנו, דרושים שיתוף פעולה והדדיות בין הרבנות הראשית לישראל לבין הרבנים שבגולה. לא פעם היינו עדים להחלשתה של מערכת זו או אחרת בגלל חוסר תאום בפעולות או חוסר פעולה מקבילה.
