כמורה באחד מבתי הספר הדתיים בסביבות בני ברק נתקלתי בפרשה מסובכת אשר קשה לי ולהנהלת בית הספר לפתרה והריני פונה אל כת"ר ומבקש הדרכה.

בבית הספר "אהל אלעזר" בפרדס־כץ לומד זו השנה השביעית ילד מעולי מצרים שרק עתה נתברר להנהלה כי הוא קראי. ילד זה מוכשר מאד ובעל מדות טובות, ואין לי ספק כי היה מצליח מאד לו ימשיך ללמוד בישיבה אחרי סיום חוק לימודיו בבית הספר. בשיחתי עם הילד הוברר לי שכבר אשתקד מלאו לו י"ג שנים ואביו לא הרשה לו להניח תפילין. אולם עתה הבטיח לי להניח תפילין מכאן ולהבא. עתה מתעוררת שאלה, אם נאפשר לו להמשיך בלימודיו ולהכניסו לישיבה הרי אחרי כן תתעורר בעיה חריפה אם יש להתיר לו לישא בת ישראל, שהרי ידוע כי מור"ם זצ"ל כותב באה"ע סימן ד' (סעיף לז) שהקראים הם ספק ממזרים. אומנם הרב יצחק אבולעפיא זצ"ל בספרו "פני יצחק" (סוף חלק ו', השמטה לאה"ע סי' ז) מצדד להתיר לאשה קראית להתגייר ולהנשא לישראל וכן מביא דעות אחדות להקל, אך מאידך יש הרבה אוסרים וביניהם מרן ומור"ם זצ"ל. ומאחר והדבר אינו מוכרע, הריני מבקש מכת"ר להביע דעתו בתשובה כדי שנוכל לכוון דעתנו ביחס לילד הנדון.
