על פי החלטת מועצת הרבנות הראשית לישראל ביום ח' במרחשון תשכ"ב, ניתנות בזה הנחיות אל הרבנים רושמי הנישואין:

הוגשה בקשה לרישום נישואין של אחד מעדת "בני ישראל" עם מי שאינו מבני עדה זאת, על הרב רושם הנישואין:

לחקור ולדרוש האם האם ואם האם של המבקש או המבקשת מעדת "בני ישראל", ולמעלה עד כמה שאפשר, הייתה יהודיה או ממשפחות שנתערבו בהם שאינם בני ברית או גרים.

לחקור ולדרוש אם הורי המבקש והורי הוריו, ולמעלה עד כמה שאפשר, נישאו לאחר גירושין, או שהיו בתוכם נישואי קרובים האסורים לפי הדין.

נתברר להרב רושם הנישואין שאין חשש מן החששות האמורים לעיל, ישיא את המבקשים.

נמצא חשש מן החששות הנ"ל, יפנם הרב רושם הנישואין לבית הדין באזור, בית הדין ידון בדבר ויכריע אם הנישואין מותרים מעיקרם, אם לאו; ואם הם מותרים, אם צריכים גרות או טבילה, אם לאו.
