מסרתי לחברא קדישא את דבר הוראתו של כת"ה בעניין העברת ארונו של הפרופ' צבי ה. שפירא ז"ל: היינו שאם נפתח ארון המתכת בשעתו כשהובא מחו"ל, כך שעצמות המנוח כבר נתערו בעפר הארץ, אסור היה לגרום עכשיו טילטול נוסף של המת, אבל אם הארון לא נפתח – מותר להעבירו למקום המנוחה המיועד לו עכשיו (המדובר על מקום־כבוד בהר הרצל), ויש לפתוח את הארון מלמטה כדי שעצמות המת הנכבד ייקלטו סוף־סוף באדמת הקודש, שהרי לשם כך הועלו, ויוצב על קברו ציון כיאות (שני דברים שלא נעשו עד כה).

אם נכון הוא שנקבר בארון ללא כל נקבים ועל מנת לפנותו בבוא השעה למקום אחר, הרי זה מותר לפנותו ולהסיר מהארון את תחתיתו ולקוברו במקום שבחרתם לו¹²².
