בתשובה למכתבך אל כב' הרב הראשי הנני להודיעך כי בספר חסידים, סימן תנ"ד, כתוב שאין לתת מנעלי המת לאחר שלא יבוא לידי סכנה, אך לא פורש איך יבוא לידי סכנה.

בספרים אחרים רצו לומר שבגדי המת ניתנים לנקוי ע"י כביסה מה שאין כן בנעליים ולפי דבריהם יש חשש של העברת המחלה של המת ללובש הנעליים¹³³.
