אחי אחד מחברי הועד של בית הכנסת "יד פרץ" במעלות ושם בבית הכנסת ישנם ס"ת רבים, כך שאין אפשרות להכניס את כולם לתוך ארון הקודש הקיים. ושאלו אם מצד הדין יהיה אפשר לעשות בתוך ארון הקודש מחיצה לרוחבו ולהניח מקצת מספרי התורה על גבי המדף, או דילמא לא שרי משום בזיון הספרי תורה התחתונים. יורנו רבינו ושכמ"ה.

בתשובה למכתבך מיום י"ג בסיון ש.ז. הורני כב' הרב הראשי שליט"א להודיעך כי אם יהיה המדף שלמעלה, שעליו רוצים להניח את הס"ת, גבוה מעל ראשי הס"ת שלמטה שלושה – ארבעה טפחים, מותר⁵⁸.
