עובדה בחול המועד של פסח, איש אחד במקום להתפלל מוסף של יום טוב, התפלל מוסף של שבת, ואחר שהגיע "ואתה ברחמך הרבים", המשיך ואמר "יעלה ויבא" וסיים התפלה. ואחר שאל את ההלכה ואמרו לו: "היה צריך לחזור", ושאל לאחרים ואמרו לו: "יפה עשית שלא חזרתה" והיא במחלוקת. ועיני ישראל עליכם, מורנו יברר לנו את ההלכה ויודיענו מע"כ את ההלכה, ותשובתו הרמה במהרה תצמח. כ"ז לחדש ניסן תשכ"ו.

קבלתי את מכתבך, והנני להודיעך שמי שהתפלל בחול המועד מוסף של שבת לא יצא, וצריך לחזור ולהתפלל מוסף של חוה"מ. אולם אם טעה כן בשבת של חוה"מ ואמר יעלה ויבוא, נחלקו בזה הפוסקים האחרונים, והגאון חיד"א העלה שאין צריך לחזור. והכי נקטינן¹⁴³.

¹⁴³ ראה להחיד"א בברכי יוסף או"ח סי' תצ אות ט שכתב: אם בשבת וחה"מ התפלל מוסף של שבת ואמר יעלה ויבוא בעבודה, צריך לחזור ולהתפלל מוסף שבת וחה"מ כיון דלא זכר שם מוסף בחה"מ וכו'. אמנם בשערי תשובה שם ד"ה מתפלל כדרכו כתב דהחיד"א במח"ב חזר בו החיד"א ופסק דאינו חוזר. וראה כה"ח (סופר) שם אות עא, שציין לדברי החיד"א ומסקנתו דאינו חוזר.
