###### Leviticus 2:1

וְנֶ֗פֶשׁ כִּֽי־תַקְרִ֞יב קׇרְבַּ֤ן מִנְחָה֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה סֹ֖לֶת יִהְיֶ֣ה קׇרְבָּנ֑וֹ וְיָצַ֤ק עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ שֶׁ֔מֶן וְנָתַ֥ן עָלֶ֖יהָ לְבֹנָֽה׃

When a person brings a meal-offering to Adonoy, his offering shall be of fine flour; he shall pour oil upon it and place frankincense upon it.

And when any will offer a meal offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense upon it:

And if a soul offer [(The Holy One Blessed be He says: "I shall account it to him as if he had offered his soul")] a meal-offering to the L-rd [and he does not specify which, of the five kinds of meal-offering], fine [wheat] flour (soleth) shall be his offering [(this one alone being called "soleth," because it is the only one of the five of which the fistful is taken before baking)]. And he [(even a non-priest)] shall pour oil upon it [(upon all of it)] and he shall put frankincense upon it [(upon part of it)].

וֶֽהֱבִיאָ֗הּ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹן֮ הַכֹּהֲנִים֒ וְקָמַ֨ץ מִשָּׁ֜ם מְלֹ֣א קֻמְצ֗וֹ מִסׇּלְתָּהּ֙ וּמִשַּׁמְנָ֔הּ עַ֖ל כׇּל־לְבֹנָתָ֑הּ וְהִקְטִ֨יר הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֶת־אַזְכָּרָתָהּ֙ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה אִשֵּׁ֛ה רֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהֹוָֽה׃

He shall bring it to the sons of Aharon, the *kohanim*; from there, [a *kohein*] takes his fistful—from its flour and oil—with all its frankincense. The *kohein* shall burn its memorial portion on the altar, a fire-offering of pleasing fragrance to Adonoy.

and he shall bring it to Aharon’s sons the priests: and he shall take from it his handful of its fine flour, and of its oil, with all its frankincense; and the priest shall burn the memorial part of it on the altar, to be an offering made by fire, a sweet savour to the Lord:

And he shall bring it to the sons of Aaron, the Cohanim, and he (the Cohein) shall take from there [(from wherever the donor is standing in the azarah)] his full fistful, [covering three fingers over the palm of his hand. (From the fistful on is the mitzvah of the kehunah)], of its fine flour and its oil, aside from all of its frankincense [i.e., the frankincense is not included in the fistful]. And the Cohein shall smoke [(the frankincense, too, is smoked)] its "remembrance" [(the fistful, the remembrance of the meal-offering, whereby its owner is remembered for good)] upon the altar, a fire-offering, a sweet savor to the L-rd.

וְהַנּוֹתֶ֙רֶת֙ מִן־הַמִּנְחָ֔ה לְאַהֲרֹ֖ן וּלְבָנָ֑יו קֹ֥דֶשׁ קׇֽדָשִׁ֖ים מֵאִשֵּׁ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃{ס}

Whatever remains of the meal-offering belongs to Aharon and his sons; [it is] holy of holies of the fire-offerings of Adonoy.

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
and the remnant of the meal offering shall be Aharon’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

**The Rashi chumash by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
And what is left from the meal-offering shall be for Aaron [(i.e., for the high-priest) without apportionment] and for his sons [with apportionment]. It is holy of holies [to them] of the fire-offerings of the L-rd. [They have no portion in it until the fistful has been smoked.]


###### Leviticus 2:4

וְכִ֥י תַקְרִ֛ב קׇרְבַּ֥ן מִנְחָ֖ה מַאֲפֵ֣ה תַנּ֑וּר סֹ֣לֶת חַלּ֤וֹת מַצֹּת֙ בְּלוּלֹ֣ת בַּשֶּׁ֔מֶן וּרְקִיקֵ֥י מַצּ֖וֹת מְשֻׁחִ֥ים בַּשָּֽׁמֶן׃{ס}

And when you bring a meal-offering that has been baked in an oven, [it shall be unleavened] matzoh-loaves of fine flour mixed with oil, or [unleavened] matzoh wafers smeared with oil.

And if thou bring a sacrifice of meal offering baked in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

And if you bring an offer of a meal-offering baked in an oven, [i.e., If one says: "I vow a meal-offering baked in an oven"], (it shall be) of fine flour: [ten] unleavened cakes mixed with oil, or [ten] unleavened wafers spread with oil. [It may be "second" or "third" oil (and does not require the first oil that comes out of the olive as the menorah does.)]

וְאִם־מִנְחָ֥ה עַל־הַֽמַּחֲבַ֖ת קׇרְבָּנֶ֑ךָ סֹ֛לֶת בְּלוּלָ֥ה בַשֶּׁ֖מֶן מַצָּ֥ה תִהְיֶֽה׃

If your offering is a pan-baked meal offering, it shall be of fine flour mixed with oil; it shall be [unleavened] matzoh.

And if thy sacrifice be a meal offering baked in a pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.

And if a meal-offering (baked) on a griddle is your offering, of fine flour mixed with oil [(while it is yet flour)], unleavened bread shall it be.

פָּת֤וֹת אֹתָהּ֙ פִּתִּ֔ים וְיָצַקְתָּ֥ עָלֶ֖יהָ שָׁ֑מֶן מִנְחָ֖ה הִֽוא׃{ס}

Break it into pieces and pour oil on it; it is a meal-offering.

Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil on it: it is a meal offering.

You shall break it [(i.e., all meal-offerings that are baked before the fistful is taken)] into pieces [before kemitzah (the taking of the fistful)], and you shall pour oil upon it [(but not upon a meal-offering baked in an oven)]; it is a meal-offering.

וְאִם־מִנְחַ֥ת מַרְחֶ֖שֶׁת קׇרְבָּנֶ֑ךָ סֹ֥לֶת בַּשֶּׁ֖מֶן תֵּעָשֶֽׂה׃

If your offering is a deep-pan meal offering, you shall make it with fine flour and oil.

And if thy sacrifice be a meal offering baked in a frying pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.

And if a meal-offering of the stewing pan is your offering, of fine flour in oil shall it be made.


###### Leviticus 2:8

וְהֵבֵאתָ֣ אֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר יֵעָשֶׂ֛ה מֵאֵ֖לֶּה לַיהֹוָ֑ה וְהִקְרִיבָהּ֙ אֶל־הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְהִגִּישָׁ֖הּ אֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

You shall bring the meal-offering that will be made in any of the aforementioned ways to Adonoy. He shall bring it to the *kohein* and he will present it to the altar.

And thou shalt bring the meal offering that is made of these things to the Lord: and when it is presented to the priest, he shall bring it to the altar.

And you shall bring the meal-offering that shall be made of [one of] these kinds to the L-rd; and he [the donor] shall present it to the Cohein, and he shall touch it to the [south-west corner of the] altar.


###### Leviticus 2:9

וְהֵרִ֨ים הַכֹּהֵ֤ן מִן־הַמִּנְחָה֙ אֶת־אַזְכָּ֣רָתָ֔הּ וְהִקְטִ֖יר הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה אִשֵּׁ֛ה רֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹ֖חַ לַיהֹוָֽה׃

The *kohein* shall separate from the meal-offering its memorial portion and burn it on the altar, a fire-offering of pleasing fragrance to Adonoy.

And the priest shall take from the meal offering its memorial part, and shall burn it on the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour to the Lord.

###### Leviticus 2:11

כׇּל־הַמִּנְחָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר תַּקְרִ֙יבוּ֙ לַיהֹוָ֔ה לֹ֥א תֵעָשֶׂ֖ה חָמֵ֑ץ כִּ֤י כׇל־שְׂאֹר֙ וְכׇל־דְּבַ֔שׁ לֹֽא־תַקְטִ֧ירוּ מִמֶּ֛נּוּ אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהֹוָֽה׃

**Metsudah Chumash, Metsudah Publications, 2009:**
All meal-offerings that you bring to Adonoy are not to be made leavened, because all sourdough and all honey you shall not burn from them a fire-offering to Adonoy.

**The Koren Jerusalem Bible:**
No meal offering, which you shall bring to the Lord, shall be made with leaven: for you shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the Lord made by fire.

**The Rashi chumash by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein:**
All of the meal-offering that you offer up to the L-rd shall not be made with leaven; for all leaven and all "honey" [any sweet-fruit extract] you shall not smoke from it a fire-offering to the L-rd.


###### Leviticus 2:12

קׇרְבַּ֥ן רֵאשִׁ֛ית תַּקְרִ֥יבוּ אֹתָ֖ם לַיהֹוָ֑ה וְאֶל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֥חַ לֹא־יַעֲל֖וּ לְרֵ֥יחַ נִיחֹֽחַ׃

You shall bring them as a first [fruit-]offering to Adonoy but they shall not go up [be placed atop] the altar as a pleasing fragrance.

As for the offerings of the firstfruits, you shall offer them to the Lord: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

As a first-offering [the two loaves of Atzereth (Shavuoth), which are of leaven, and the bikkurim, of fruit-honey (e.g., figs and dates)] you may offer them up to the L-rd; but they shall not come up to the altar for a sweet savor.


###### Leviticus 2:13

וְכׇל־קׇרְבַּ֣ן מִנְחָתְךָ֮ בַּמֶּ֣לַח תִּמְלָח֒ וְלֹ֣א תַשְׁבִּ֗ית מֶ֚לַח בְּרִ֣ית אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ מֵעַ֖ל מִנְחָתֶ֑ךָ עַ֥ל כׇּל־קׇרְבָּנְךָ֖ תַּקְרִ֥יב מֶֽלַח׃{ס}

You shall salt all your meal-offerings with salt and you shall not omit salt, the covenant of your God from [being placed] upon your meal-offerings. You shall bring salt on every one of your offerings.

And thy every meal offering shalt thou season with salt; nor shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meal offering: with all thy offerings thou shalt offer salt.

And every offering of your meal-offering you shall salt with salt. And you shall not cut off the salt of the covenant of your G-d from your meal-offering. [G-d made a covenant for salt from the six days of creation, when the lower waters were "promised" that salt would be offered up on the altar and that water would be offered as a libation (on Succoth).] With all of your offerings [(With the burnt-offering of beast and bird and with the devoted portions (emurim) of all sacrifices)] shall you offer salt.


###### Leviticus 2:14

וְאִם־תַּקְרִ֛יב מִנְחַ֥ת בִּכּוּרִ֖ים לַיהֹוָ֑ה אָבִ֞יב קָל֤וּי בָּאֵשׁ֙ גֶּ֣רֶשׂ כַּרְמֶ֔ל תַּקְרִ֕יב אֵ֖ת מִנְחַ֥ת בִּכּוּרֶֽיךָ׃

When you bring a meal-offering of first grains to Adonoy, of newly ripened crops, roasted over fire, ground [full and moist] kernels, you shall bring your first grain meal-offering.

And if thou offer a meal offering of thy firstfruits to the Lord, thou shalt offer for the meal offering of thy firstfruits ears of corn dried by the fire, corn beaten out of fresh ears.
