וְעַיֵּן בַּמַּאֲמָר "פָּתַח רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן" (בְּסִימָן ס), מְבֹאָר שֶׁעַל-יְדֵי בְּחִינַת שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה שֶׁהֵם בְּחִינַת שִׁבְעִים פָּנִים, עַל-יְדֵי-זֶה נַעֲשֶׂה הִתְעוֹרְרוּת הַשֵּׁנָה, וְעַל-יְדֵי-זֶה זוֹכִין לְיִרְאָה, עַיֵּן שָׁם:

וְזֶהוּ רֶמֶז מִפְּנֵי שֵׂיבָה תָּקוּם. כִּי כְּשֶׁרוֹאֶה פְּנֵי שֵׂיבָה בֶּן שִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה, בְּחִינַת שִׁבְעִים פָּנִים, מְחֻיָּב לָקוּם וּלְהִתְעוֹרֵר בִּבְחִינַת הִתְעוֹרְרוּת הַשֵּׁנָה, כְּמוֹ שֶׁכָּתוּב, מָתַי תָּקוּם מִשְּׁנָתֶךָ. וְזֶה בְּחִינַת וְהָדַרְתָּ פְּנֵי זָקֵן, כִּי זֶה בְּחִינַת הַדְרַת פָּנִים, שֶׁהוּא בְּחִינַת כְּלָלִיּוּת כָּל הַשִּׁבְעִים שָׁנִים שִׁבְעִים פָּנִים, כַּמְבֹאָר שָׁם, עַיֵּן שָׁם. וְהַיְנוּ דְּסִיֵּם 'וְיָרֵאתָ מֵאֱלֹקֶיךָ', כִּי עַל-יְדֵי-זֶה זוֹכִין לְיִרְאָה כַּנַּ"ל, עַיֵּן שָׁם:
