לוֹמְדֵי־תוֹרָה רָאוּי לָהֶם לֵידַע עֲתִידוֹת, וְזֶה שֶׁכָּתוּב: קֶדֶם יָדַעְתִּי (תהלים קיט) – שֶׁאֲנִי יוֹדֵעַ מִקֹּדֶם מַה שֶּׁיִּהְיֶה. וּמֵהֵיכָן, מֵעֵדֹתֶיךָ, דְּהַיְנוּ מִן הַתּוֹרָה:

It is fitting that students of Torah know the future. This is as it is written (Psalms 119:152), “*KeDeM* (Of old) I gained kn o wledge”—I gained knowledge *me’KoDeM* (in advance) of what will be. From where? “From Your testimonies”—i.e., from the Torah.
