המתפלל צריך לכוין בלבו פירוש המלות שמוציא בשפתיו ויחשוב כאילו שכינה כנגדו שנאמר שויתי ה' לנגדי תמיד. ויחשוב כאילו עומד בבית המקדש. וצריך לעמוד כעבד לפני רבו באימה וביראה. ויש נוהגים להתפלל בר"ה ויוה"כ בכריעה, ואלה צריכים לזקוף כשיגיעו למלך עוזר כדי להשתחוות אח"כ בברוך אתה, וכן יזקוף בוכל החיים וישחה אח"כ בברוך אתה, ובשאר הברכות כשיגיע לברוך יזקוף עצמו וישאר זקוף עד אחר שיתחיל ברכה שלאחריה לפי שאסור לשחות בשאר הברכות לא בתחלה ולא בסוף. כשיזקוף לא יעמוד בקומה זקופה רק ראשו כפוף מעט. יחשוב במחשבתו אני מכוין לכלול את עצמי בין אינון דמתפללין לקוב"ה בלבב שלם:

**אֱלֹהַי,**נְצֹר לְשׁוֹנִי מֵרָע, וּשְׂפָתַי מִדַּבֵּר מִרְמָה, וְלִמְקַלְלַי, נַפְשִׁי תִדֹּם, וְנַפְשִׁי כֶּעָפָר לַכֹּל תִּהְיֶה. פְּתַח לִבִּי בְּתוֹרָתֶךָ, וְאַחֲרֵי מִצְוֹתֶיךָ תִּרְדּוֹף נַפְשִׁי, וְכָל הַקָּמִים וְהַחוֹשְׁבִים עָלַי רָעָה מְהֵרָה הָפֵר עֲצָתָם וְקַלְקֵל מַחֲשַׁבְתָּם.
