And sometimes it repeats the noun for other teachings.

כמו שבהסגרים, בכל הסגר ראשון אמר "והסגיר את הנגע", מפני שישאר נגע בכל אופן כי יצטרך הסגר שני (תזריע ס' נט)

**Ayelet Hashachar, translated by Betzalel Avraham Feinstein, 2021:**
As with respect to quarantine, with any first quarantine, it says והסגיר את הנגע (then the priest shall shut up him that has the plague)³⁰⁷, since the plague will remain anyway when he will need a second quarantine.

And when it is written אשר יגע במשכבו (And whosoever touches his bed)³⁰⁸, there is a homiletical interpretation.

"וכי ירוק…בטהור" (מצורע ס' קלו)

**Ayelet Hashachar, translated by Betzalel Avraham Feinstein, 2021:**
וכי ירוק...בטהור (And if he that has the issue spit upon him that is clean)³⁰⁹.

*Leviticus 13:4 says,*ואם בהרת לבנה הוא בעור בשרו ועמק אין מראה מן העור ושערה לא הפך לבן והסגיר הכהן את הנגע שבעת ימים*(And if the bright spot be white in the skin of his flesh, and the appearance thereof be not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof be not turned white, then the priest shall shut up him that has the plague seven days), using the words והסגיר את הנגע for “then the priest shall shut up him that has the plague”. The word הנגע (the plague) is superfluous, since it could use the word*והסגירו*and the reader would understand that the pronoun means “the plague”, from the previous verse. This is to teach that it is only talking about the first seven days of quarantine³¹⁰.*
