יש הבדל בין לשון "**בשגגה**" או "**בבלי דעת**", ובין לשון "**ולא ידע**". שהשוגג בעת מעשהו יצוין במלת "בשגגה" או "בבלי דעת", אבל במלות "ולא ידע" מציין שלא ידע מעשה שעשה זולתו או מעשה שעשה כבר או מציין שאינו יודע איך יפעול. (ויקרא סימן שסא)

There is a difference between the language **בשגגה** (unintentionally) or **בבלי דעת** (without knowledge) and the language **ולא ידע** (and he does not know): An accidental sin in the time of his deed is indicated with the words בשגגה or בבלי דעת, but the words ולא ידע indicate that he does not know a deed that someone else had done or a deed that he had already done, or it indicates that he does not know how it will be done.
