יש הבדל בין **'היקף'** ובין **'סביב'**. שפעל 'היקף' הונח ביחוד על הסבוב השלם אבל פעל 'סבוב' יבוא גם על הסבוב הבלתי שלם. עד שאם רוצה לציין שיהיה ההיקף שלם יכפול המלה – "סביב סביב", או ישמש בני הפעלים כמו "וסבותם את העיר הקף".

There is a difference between **היקף** and **סביב** (surround): The verb **היקף** refers specifically to a complete surrounding, but the verb **סביב** also refers to an incomplete surrounding. If it wants to indicate that it will be a complete surrounding, the word will be repeated - **סביב סביב**, or it will use it as a verb, like וסבותם את העיר הקף (And you shall compass the city, all the men of war, going about the city once)⁶⁶⁶.
