יש הבדל בין **פת** ובין **לחם**. "לחם" הוא השלם ונקרא בכמה שמות לויי לפי צורתו – **ככר לחם, חלה, רקיק, מצה**. אבל פת הוא הבלתי שלם (ויקרא ס' קכד).

There is a difference between **פת** and **לחם** (bread): **לחם** is whole and is called by several particular names, according to its form - **ככר לחם** (loaf of bread), **חלה** (bread used on Sabbath and festivals), **רקיק** (biscuit), **מצה** (unleavened bread). But **פת** is not whole.
