ויש הבדל בין **נשבע לשקר** ובין **נשבע על שקר**. שעם שבועת שקר בא תמיד שימוש הלמ"ד, ולא בא אחריו מלת "על" רק כטעם בעבור לציין הדבר שבעבורו נשבע. (ויקרא ס' שעה, וסימן שפג)

And there is a difference between **נשבע לשקר** and **נשבע על שקר** (false oath): שבועת שקר (false oath) always comes with the prefix ל, except when the word על comes after it; then it means *for the sake of*, to indicate that the matter was sworn for the sake of falsehood.
