פעל **שבר** יצדק רק בדבר תלוש ששוברו לשנים או כלי שנשברה עד שלא תצלח עוד למלאכתה. וכן על דבר שמחובר מחומר אחד.

The verb **שבר** is only correct in a matter of detachment, that it breaks into two, or with an instrument that is broken until it is no longer functional. And moreover, with an object that is composed of one material.

ואם משבר הכלי לחלקים דקים ישמש בלשונות **נפוץ, הדק, כתית**.

אבל **נתץ והרס** הם רק בדבר מחובר על ידי בנין. 'ההורס' מקלקל צורת הבנין לבד, ו'הנותץ' משחית גם חמרו. ויצויר 'נותץ' גם אם החלקים הניתצים נשארים מונחים במקומם אבל ההורס מסיע החלקים ממקומם (שמיני ס' קלט, וסימן קמא)

But **נתץ והרס** are only used with respect to an object that is connected together through building. ההורס only damages the shape of the structure, while הנותץ also damages its material. And נותץ also depicts the parts that are smashed and left resting in their places, but ההורס depicts the parts moving from their places.
