שם "**עוללות**" הושאל מן הקטנים באנשים אל האשכולות הקטנים בגפן. ושם "**אשכולות**" הושאל מן הגפן אל גדולי המעלה באנשים.

The noun **עוללות** (gleanings) is borrowed from *infants/toddlers* to mean small clusters of grapes, i.e., gleanings. And the noun **אשכולות** (clusters) is borrowed from *wine* to mean men of great virtue.
