יש הבדל מה שביתר מתנות עניים תפס לשון "**נתינה**" ובפאה תפס לשון "**עזיבה**". משום שאין צריך ליתן הפאה רק להניח לפניהם והם יבזבזו.

There is a difference between leaving gifts for the poor with the language **נתינה** (give) and leaving unharvested produce in the corners of the field with the language **עזיבה** (leave) in that there is no need to give the produce that is left unharvested, only to place it before them while they are left to waste.

וכן יש הבדל בין "**עזיבה**" ל"**הוצאה**", שהעוזב אינו מנקה מן הקש והמוץ. (קדושים סימן כב)
