פעל **'בקר'** בא על המעיין על הדבר לדעת טבעו ותכונתו. ויש 'ביקור' הגיוני שהיו מבקרים את הנלקה בבית דין ומודיעים חטאו על ידי קריאה (קדושים ס' נד).

The verb **בקר** (investigation) comes on the origin of the matter, to know its nature and its character. And there is logical ביקור in which they investigate a person getting hit in court and inform of his sin through a reading.

ולא יצדק 'ביקור' על הדרישה והחיפוש אם נמצא הדבר; רק על העיון בדבר הנמצא (תזריע ס' קלה).

And ביקור is not correct with respect to an investigation as to whether a matter is real; it is only correct with respect to the study of a matter that is known to be real.
