[Malbim Ayelet HaShachar 531:1](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20Ayelet%20HaShachar/r/531:1)

מן פעל **'זמם'** (שמורה על המחשבה בעצה עמוקה להרע או להטיב) נגזר שם "**מזימה**" על עומק עיון והתגברות מחשבה; פעמים לטוב ופעמים לרע. ושם **זימה** הונח ביחוד על השתקעות המחשבה בחטא ובזנות. ובתורה לא תמצא שם זה רק במחלל את בתו להזנותה ובערות אשה ובתה. (קדושים ס' קיא)

**Ayelet Hashachar, translated by Betzalel Avraham Feinstein, 2021:**
The noun **מזימה** (conspiracy/plot) is derived from the verb **זמם** (conspiring), which can sometimes be for good and sometimes for evil. And the noun **זימה** (lewdness) in particular specifies the immersion of one’s thoughts into sin and immorality. And in the Torah, this noun is only found with respect to the profanity of one’s daughter with immorality⁷²⁸ and the uncovering the nakedness of a woman and her daughter⁷²⁹.

והכתוב דבר בעריות בלשונות מיוחדות – **תועבה, זימה, חסד,** וכדומה – וכל אחד נצרך לדרוש מיוחד.

**Ayelet Hashachar, translated by Betzalel Avraham Feinstein, 2021:**
And matters of immorality come in the Scripture in a special language– **תועבה** (abomination), **זימה** (lewdness), **חסד** (shameful), etc., and each one is needed for a special homiletical interpretation.

###### Malbim Ayelet HaShachar 531:3
[Malbim Ayelet HaShachar 531:3](https://torahapp.org/share/book/Malbim%20Ayelet%20HaShachar/r/531:3)

ובכל העריות תפס לשון **שכיבה** ובאחותו ואשת אחיו תפס '**לקיחה**'. ויש בזה טעם על פי הפשט. ובערות אשה ואמה תפס גם כן 'לקיחה', ויש בזה לימוד. (קדושים סימן קי)

**Ayelet Hashachar, translated by Betzalel Avraham Feinstein, 2021:**
And all immorality uses the language **שכיבה** (lying down), and lying with one’s sister or the wife of one’s brother uses **לקיחה**. And there is a reason for this in accordance with its simple meaning. And with respect to uncovering the nakedness of a woman and her mother, it also uses **לקיחה**, and there is something special to learn from this.

*Leviticus 20:14 says,*ואיש אשר יקח את אשה ואת אמה זמה הוא באש ישרפו אתו ואתהן ולא תהיה זמה בתוככם*(And if a man take with his wife also her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.), using the verb*יקח*for “take”. This is to teach that the man is liable only because he married a woman and then lay with her daughter. But if he had forced or seduced a woman and then lay with her daughter, the verse would not pertain to him⁷³⁰.*
