יש הבדל בין "**ושלח אל** השדה" ובין "**ושלח על פני** השדה". ש"על פני" מציין היותו בגבול הדבר ואינו מציין שישאר שם. (מצורע סימן כט)

There is a difference between **ושלח אל** השדה and **ושלח על פני** השדה (shall let go the living bird into the open field)⁷⁷⁵: על פני indicates that it exists on the boundary of the thing, and it does not indicate that it will remain there.
