**Ayelet Hashachar, translated by Betzalel Avraham Feinstein, 2021:**
The conjunction letter **ו** – it is the opinion of Rabbi Abraham ben Meir Ibn Ezra and the *Radak* that it is like the prefix letter **ف** (pronounced *fe)* in Arabic (which can mean “and” or “so” or “then”). And the opinion of the *Radak*’s father in the book *Sefer HaGilui* is that it alludes to a missing word. And there is in this a disagreement between the *Tannaim* about the verse ולקח באצבעו ונתן (And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it)⁷⁷⁶ with regard to whether it is interpreted based on juxtaposition to the language preceding it or the language following it⁷⁷⁷. And according to the sages of blessed memory, a letter **ו** that comes like this is always interpreted according to a homiletical interpretation.
